The helmet thread

never heard of someone using superglue on a wound before

Ah yeah, this I know, I have some of those in my trekking backpack just in case

god, that sounds painfull

yeah and she didnt care,bitch

I always have the little one use super glue packs in my first aid kits. And always one on hand when I’m using a scalpel to trim something on a board (which inevitably gets used).

The fancy stuff they use in hospital is called Dermabond and is made right down the street from me. It’s basically medical grade superglue with antimicrobial properties.

IIRC the Nobleman helmets are rebranded helmets that can be found on AliExpress for less than half the price.

Dermabond should absolutely not be in a first aid kit. Trust me, I’m a physician. In fact, I am writing this from my office right now.

Dermabond is good for small lacerations no greater than about an inch, has clean edges and is not too deep. It also has to be in an area that does not have a lot of skin tension like the front of the knee.

Any wound that is jagged, puncture-like, or contaminated in any way is NOT a good place to use Dermabond. Infections can occur and can get pretty nasty.

Has anyone here tried a Kali Protectives Invader 2.0

It’s probably hard to beat a Fox Proframe… But mine is getting some age to it.

So I am looking for something lighter and more airy…
Or smaller profile.

Loving my POC Coron Air Spin so far. Its fiberglass, has spin technology(mips) has emergency pull tabs, and pretty good ventilation too.

Haven’t tried that one but they make really nice helmets.
I just parted ways with a kali prana carbon cause it was my backup and a local needed it. Was sad to see it go, but Im not big on MX style helmets.
Definitely was the nicest helmet ive owned.

I was looking at the Kali too but it sounded like people were having fitment issues or something and that the IXS Trigger was better in that regard. They both seem to have about the same amount of ventilation. Im picking a trigger up tomorrow. I did discover that the Nobleman is in fact a cheaper Chinese helmet being sold at a premium price so thats a no go for me.

Hi all. I’m deciding between two helmets and would like some input. I’m mostly riding my board 3 km to the sk8park and back and sometimes for fun, carving and cruising around 25-30kmh.

I have a regular skateboard helmet for now.

Deciding between a full face this 661 Reset MTB helmet (has some certificates:CPSC, CE: 1078, AS/NZS 2064) 1100g

and this MTR X6B EVO motocross helmet. (is supposedly ECE 22.06 certified) 1350g

Does anyone know of a good helmet with a removable chin bar and also a built-in lens?

you’re thinking of a modular helmet ya? for motorcycles

those have a movable chin piece and often gave a built in shaded lense

but i don’t think any have a removable piece

there are mtb helmets that have removable chin pieces but you’ll have to wear goggles

Ive been using a standard open face helmet for a few years. Tried a couple full face models, from the bell super mips to the TSG Pass pro and the Predator Carbon. For my own security I keep coming back to motorbike helmets.

Currently I’m using an SGI Seca Dark-star. Its a bit heavy with more bulk due to the twin visor setup compared with an esk8 helmet such as the TSG. Disregarded the weight and bulkier nature, i much prefer a motorbike helmet as I feel much more secure and comfortable riding at higher speeds.

Maybe I will when I change out the motors and redo the wrap. It wouldnt be a full build thread but more so an intimate look at “Lost Soul”, how it came about and the meaning behind the name and artwork.

Keep an eye out. I may just do a thread.
