The end of the FOCBOX Unity

I would just like to throw out that I think everything he did was under the suggestion of a lawyer. I mostly infer this because I think the #1 piece of advice they would give is to not say anything.

As opposed to the 2 year warranty by Enertion… oh wait.

If you talk to CS they can still honor returns, or if you purchase their 3rd party extended warranty for a few bucks it’s pretty nice too.

Also there’s a big difference between random sellers on Amazon vs fullfilled and/or sold by amazon.

It’ll be very interesting to find out if that 3-year square trade policy (Amazon was selling in-flow on the unity product page) will pay out for replacements and repairs

yeah, “fulfilled by amazon” is where its at.
The 3rd party ebay chinese dropshippers that take 2 months to ship, well, you’re better off getting them on ebay/aliexpress

I was going to point you to the thread on the builders forum, but I see you already posted there. @Deodand @Blasto do we have a Unity FW fix log somewhere?

My first major fall in esk8 was because the Unity had had a firmware update near the beginning of last summer but I forgot to install it. I rode out with a friend and gunned it. Right around 30 my motors went from full tilt to full brake and threw me off the front of the board. I was only wearing a skate helmet for protection and didn’t have much time to really think about how to fall so ended up sliding on the side of my face and palms. Took pretty much all the skin off the bottom of both of my palms and the right side of my jaw. Had my hands wrapped for the next month or so but now the biggest sign is that the bottom of my right palm is a bit discolored. Only issue I’ve had with the Unity so far and am planning on putting two of them into a 4WD build soon. But the trust certainly isn’t as high as it used to be.

refund yes… warranty for like new working part… Mkay…

I love Amazon as well… and I buy their overpriced stuff for a reason… convenience and customer service… I can order a weird widget from them and it appears at my door almost as fast and cheaper than I can fire up the gas-guzzler and travel to the local widget shop, that most probably has no stock…

If Amazon had stock still, they often offer to send out a new replacement or refund. Better than whatever Enertion had to offer anyway.

IF

that is my point!

No, the point is that the ORIGINAL argument was that it was better to buy from Amazon than Kevin. and I would agree, I have more faith that Amazon would return my money for a DOA than CommunityKevin

Exactly,. But there is PayPal protection, if you use as goods,. Maybe. It’s all moot. They are pretty much all sold and spoken for.

So I made a few hundred and funded my own. Can we move on.

Actually. It’s kind of fun. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There’s a thought @kevingraehl, people would probably be more willing to shell out +20% for a verified non-DOA Unity.

Ah, never mind, all sold.

Alternatively, since you’re so committed, why don’t you strike up the same deal with Jason like EnertionUSA did and bring back the unity? I’m sure he’d be willing to sell it in bulk to you still.

Once I saw the news I made my order and told Kevin. If you want to blame anyone, blame Jason at Enertion for not working something out with the US distributor. If another $50 would have made keeping this product in stock I expect people would have paid it.

Exactly. Same here. Got my spare and let a few of the guys know what was going on. They too got some before Kevin got ahold of them

lol, I think kevin trusts amazon more than Jason
