Cool, solid input.
Buying from an actual retailer with certain credit cards gives you an extended warranty through the credit card company, they will reimburse you the product value if the product fails. This is not an option when buying from individuals through paypal.

This happened to me. Tossed me off at full speed sent into a rag doll roll across the pavement. Hit the ground so hard that almost a year later now I still have joint problems. Will probably need surgery on my index finger. That was all because of a firmware issue. Still felt weird after that major firmware update, so could never trust the Unity.

You hit the pavement like that and never forget it. I don’t take anymore chances after that.

I took a hard spill and needed surgery, but I believe that was a motor related issue

Plus many credit cards provide 1yr extended warranty (the CC will credit you, pro-rated)

People who talks crap about Amazon purchases has no idea how far they go to protect the customers. 3rd party warranty, precision inventory count, instant refunds. Amazon in the US doesn’t joke on customer service. 8 years prime member now and they have given me 0 reason to dislike them. Took back everything I returned on their dime no questions asked.

Don’t laugh too hard, the return window on my Amazon unities is still open. They both work I checked, but I can send these back for a refund if I felt like it still.

yeah, amazon online shopping is literally the gold standard for all the reasons stated.

I bought a part a few days ago in the morning, and it came in 10 hrs in the evening! I was expecting the standard 2 days.

Regarding Amazon, I would be hard pressed to fault their customer service.

I bought a safari cage for a range rover I had a couple of years ago. UPS showed it as delivered, it wasn’t on my porch, I have cameras and I checked them, UPS was never there. I called Amazon, they overnighted me another one and didn’t charge me anything additional, the cage was over 100 lbs so had to be pricey.

Just this week I ordered a Amazon Renewed phone for kid in PA ($500), the box had no phone and the seller had zero interest in helping so I went to Amazon CS. Two hours later they processed my refund and I ordered another phone from a different seller, all is good.

That’s just my personal experience, but I like those folks.
