Metr pro Bluetooth module will not Connect to metr app, no show up. Will connect in vesc tool.
What to do?
I have Been following first time setup guide.
Esc, Flipsky dual fsesc 6.6 plus.

Check the wire configuration. the vesc 6 uses a different layout (especially flipsky). You might need to swap RT and TX.

So : Make sure the dongle rx goes to vesc tx and dongle tx goes to vesc rx. The uart port layout could be different on your Flipsky 6.6 compared to the standard vesc.

Also check if you enabled UART in the vesc tool. (Under PPM)

I have contact via the vesc tool app. And have done the config in vesc tool app.
So I find Bluetooth, just don’t find Bluetooth in metr app. Scanning ends up blank every time I scan in metr app.
All permisions are also allowed. App updated.

Try going in Metr app - settings - magic - at the bottom → force scan.

Go back and look again if the app finds the module.

What metr app version do you have?
Make sure you don’t connect to the module via the settings of your phone. Only via app.

Version 4.1.21
I tried force scan and still nothing.

Look again in the appstore. i think @rpasichnyk just released the 4.1fw update. i’m on 4.1.22 (beta) but now its 4.1.24

Updated still nothing. App shows same version after update. 4.1.21
Also tried to re-install app. But still version 4.1.21

Metr Pro can only have one active connection at a time. If your VESC Tool is still opened in the background, you need to force close it and wait a little bit. After this Metr Pro will switch to discovery mode (blue LED slowly blinking). Then you can scan and find it in metr app again.

Vesc tool is Closed. Unpaired in phone settings.

Can you see Metr Pro blue LED blinking slowly? (discovery mode)
Did you use VESC Tool on the same device?

Wouldn’t trying the BLE app to find the module be a possibility? Same with my issue a few weeks ago.

Yes I can.
Used vesc tool app on phone. Connects with vesc tool.

Downloaded ble scanner, starter it and activated location service. Tried metr app and boom, I got connection now :grinning:
Might be Because location service was not activated before.

Definitely because of this.

app needs this permission because a Bluetooth scan can be used to gather information about the location of the user. This information may come from the user’s own devices, as well as Bluetooth beacons in use at locations such as shops and transit facilities.

Metr app never asked to turn on location,
Ble scanner app asker to turn on.
Is it possible to make metr app ask for it ? .
Wold be handy for newbies :sweat_smile:

Are these wh/mi spikes artifact or suggestive of underlying actual badness? Is there a metr setting I adjust to minimize this?

I have been considering getting a metr. I have been using Ackmaniac, but the graphing is not very user friendly. One question, the Ack app uses notifications that I can see on my watch which show speed and battery. Does metr use notifications? I don’t like looking at my phone while riding, but glacing at my watch is pretty easy.
