The Definitive Guide to Metr App / Metr Pro

sometimes wireless is the only option, and it’s a more practical option when things actually work

Firmware has checksum, it gets verified before installation, if there is something corrupted, nothing will be installed.

VESC Tool is in quite good shape nowadays and hopefully will be coming to iOS soon, why not use it for firmware update?

Now its not wrong to like the metr app but since u are risking ur own life changing important settings on a board over a wireless connection shouldnt be done imo just outta safety precautions and more over also imo shouldnt be done by a 3rd party app like metr. Anything that u want to change on ur board i feel like would be safer if do it directly through the vesc tool wired via usb. But hey ik there are alot of folks who swears by wireless vesc setting changes and at the end of the day it comes down to if you want to do it or not and knowing the risk behind said action.

Naah, metr has got me out of a lot of sticky situations and enabled me to do a ton of stuff through waterproofing on the go. Metr is even better than the mobile VESCTool app at most things.

If you don’t understand the settings don’t touch them, that’s why it’s called “Expert Mode”.

Hey @rpasichnyk thanks again for this great product!

Sorry probably noob question but what does mean this number in red?

I thought it was the number of faults but I got only one recorded, so it may be something else…

It’s METR CAN in case it matters.

I also assumed it was number of faults, but I also have hundreds of faults. Can’t figure out why I get all the faults as my setup functions fine.

Great guide, really well layed out and easy to read though.

It is a number of faults. It would be helpful if you upload this record so I could see what’s wrong.

How do you share your recording so it shows up like this on the forum (interactive). If I share a link to the record it looks just like a hyperlink

Thanks

Just paste the link. No need to convert it into a hyperlink etc.

Okay thanks! Actually badly specified motor temp sensor type triggered a lot of motor high temperature faults.

Ah, that’s easy…

Thanks a lot :muscle:
