The Definitive Guide to Metr App / Metr Pro

Yes, I looked at them but forgot to answer, sorry. There are no obvious things that are wrong in the log file. Metr app sends this command to VESC:

foc_openloop 15 0

Can you please try connecting VESC Tool and trying this command manually? Ideally with USB, make sure live RT data is enabled. You can find some videos on YouTube with people running this command if you search foc_openloop.

Why does metr keeps loosing it’s name? I rename it and after some time it goes back to default “Metr Pro”. It usually happens when I switch boards and start using the other one.

Try changing the name while the board is connected.

Trying to order my 3rd metr. But this shipping is almost the same as module itself… Is there any other shipping option @rpasichnyk I am fine with regular post… This is a bit too much for shipping.

Shipping is to Belgrade, Serbia.

Also I have a question. It happens every time. If I shut down my board, and then after some time tur it on again, start riding i get a notification “record started” but it always records a 0 km trip unless I close the app and then reopen it. Then it records fine.

Is there a possibility to overwrite those records from the SD card or not because if I understood correctly while the phone is connected metr won’t record on SD card?

Thanks

Shipping company that I am using has really bad rates for Serbia, I am sorry

But I added regular slow post option for Serbia which is much cheaper. Thanks for letting me know!

There is nothing written on SD card while BLE connection is active. If you turn off bluetooth on your phone, then yes. But if you have phone with you and app is running, records should happen directly on the phone. Weird that they are 0km, there must be some bug!

I am using iPhone, if you need some logs or anything else, let me know

Ok, I am doing something wrong here but can’t figure out what.

Today I have turned off my Bluetooth on iPhone, went for a ride, once finished i have turned on Bluetooth and connected to metr.

Shouldn’t I see that ride automatically uploaded from sd card to phone? I can’t see anything like I didn’t ride today at all.

Also what is going to happen in scenario where a ride is started without ble connection and then in middle of it if it is established?

Thanks

Yes, you should see a new ride. Please send logs to support@metr.at

Record to SD will stop and will be transferred to the phone. At the same time a new record on the phone will start.

Hey guys, Im having issues with my metr pro can lately. It randomly stops and restarts the record on my phone probably about 5 times on a 10 minute ride. Im wondering if its the positive power voltage changing i got from the uart port. (The can port on the tb6 vescs doesnt have power to the positive pin for some reason) i noticed this started happening probably a month ago. Ive had the board for over a year.

Has anyone tried updating firmware via the latest VESC tool phone app using a Metr, or any BT module? I have a Lacroix prototipo i’m trying to update the firmware on.

Which firmware do you have? Which firmware do you want to upgrade to?

The prototipo is stock from Lacroix so i’d assume one from 2018-ish. I’d probably want to upgrade to 5.3 since its the verison that’s on the phone app

I used my metr to bridge to TCP and update via the desktop VESCTool

This is the best way IMHO

Ok, so using a metr to update firmware from 2018 works. Thank goodness. The USB ports were all fukd

Anyone got the metr can UBox ennoid xlite working?….keep getting this

Your screenshot shows Expert tab (where you can change settings). This is not supported (yet) for Ennoid. Please use Ennoid BMS Tool in the meantime. But you should already be able to see cell level data when you click on percentage (Realtime)

How do I get to that screen? I can tap the battery when there’s some sort of issue like a mismatch and get to that screen, but when things with the BMS aren’t having issues that screen won’t open for me.

Yes, you just tap the battery. What BMS do you have? When BMS suports this and sends realtime data, you should also see green blink once in a second:

As I said tapping the battery icon only works for me when there’s a red exclamation point issue. Otherwise tapping the battery doesn’t do anything. It’s an LLT and yea it’s paired with the metr over BT
