I can’t seem to find the diagrams that used to float around.
but the vx1 (and vx1 pro) were able to support “vesc” via uart. and “non vesc” (also vesc) via “PPM” ( ServoControl )
it just depended on which pins you pulled off the receiver. (they sell it with different wiring harnesses)
so you should be able to hook the vx1 up via “PPM” ( ServoControl ) and the metr up to uart.
alternatively if you’re dual vesc connected via CAN, you can use one uart port for metr, and the other uart on the other vesc for VX1 in uart mode.
and more complicatedly there’s uSplit out there. which was a uart multiplexer for putting two uart devices on the same uart port. I never wanted to risk running a remote through it. but it gained trust with some people. but if you’re gonna get more devices, you might as well get a metr pro can, or minnie CAN instead to free up your uart port that way.
