quick question

you’re bot planning to sell this pack, right?

If I fix all the problems and make it good enough then I am.

I’m trying to guess how old he is & I really want to say 15. Could be younger but if older I’m really :frowning:

You’ve been on here for some time and you have all this info & pictures to look at and you’ve applied none of the info & … I’m too zonked out to properly articulate the none of the pictures part.

Get sum fuckn kester 60/40, some rosin flux & an acid brush for it, & that popular pencil usb iron at a minimum. T something or some shit.

Make solder puddles on your nickel before welding

Definitely grab some Kester 60/40 or equivalent. I’m pretty early in my soldering career and can make some pretty decent joints with it

Thanks for the reccomendation, I’ll definitely look for this at the hardware store tomorrow.

U aint gone find it at the hardware store foo

Physical stores haven’t existed for anything hobby electronics since before you were born, & even before I was born radioshack. That era is long gone

i would say

don’t sell this pack

this is like aviator 2.0…

do not sell packs until you’ve gained experience and build a good amount

i’ve essentially built 16 packs and repaired 3 at this point and i still wouldn’t sell any

Hes tryna sell packs?

That is a rather lofty goal my dude, given the skills and tools you have shown so far. Every pack you build will be better than the last, but this one is nowhere near ready for prime-time yet. This is a learning process, and you still have much to learn. There’s a lot of nuance.

I personally don’t think that pack is anywhere near sale-worthiness, and unless you tear it completely down to bare cells (without damaging them at all) and start again with a significantly different approach, it never will be.

There’s some really encouraging and supportive people here. /S

Go watch your nasa soldering videos & a 30 minute YouTube compilation of hobby rc related soldering. Buy clamps and clips and forceps & an array of hobbyking wire n yer gud.

Never will you be posting pictures of crummy copper junk that looks like you splooged on it again

sorrry, when it’s your liability and someone else’s life at stake here, you have to make sure you have everything down to the T.

you can’t go into batteries and immediately start selling them

We’re not just here to be blindly and vacuously supportive when the things you build AND SELL can potentially cause grievous bodily harm or massive property damage if you fuck up. We will call you on your shit.

Being patted on your head and encouraged is great, when you’re still learning the basics. But once you even think about trying to build something that is not for your sole exclusive use, it’s a whole different ballgame where we will Gordon-Ramsay the fuck out of every potential failure mode we see.

No one here is shitting on you, while we may not being as nice as we could be about it everything we’re telling you is exactly what you need to actually do.

But there’s a really, really simple fact I know of - at this point, probably more than a dozen times in this thread it has been stated:

If your battery packs do not look 90% similar to the current leading battery vendors, like… in every aspect.
You shouldn’t be making batteries for anything else than boards you’re personally riding, and absolutely nowhere near being able to think about wanting to sell packs or offer related services

And I’m normally one to actually shit on people doing dumb shit with batteries but I can tell you’re younger. Honestly dude, please don’t burn down your fucking house. Those cold joints on batteries are literally the thing that leads to burnt down houses. And yours are honestly some of the coldest looking joints I’ve seen on here, but I think that’s partly because you’re using acidic silver plumbers solder. The fact it looks so fuckin matte grey, not the fact they’re cold. Which they are. Paging @KaramQ dibs

I hope you wear a good helmet w/those batteries. Burn down your house and knock out yo teeth. Call it a twoofer :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry if we’re particular

This.
I built myself 4-5 batteries and have just sold my first pack after having supervision from a trusted battery builder.
that battery is not up to snuff.

Tbf, if you don’t like criticism you don’t have to post.

+1, an echo chamber of blind support is a recipe for disaster.

Side note, here’s a picture of the battery I just finished.

I submitted a picture of it and received feedback on everything I did wrong. There were some places where the b- wire was crossing over and didn’t have enough insulation and a few other sharp things that I immediately fixed. I didn’t complain that I was being given extra work, nor did I make a snarky remark. My reply was “ok, I’ll add in some more fishpaper”

curious, how old are you?
