yeah thatâs what I wanted to do but donât want neighbors to call 911 for âplaying with explosives/fireâ I know they would call them if they saw it or heard it
Itâs not that much energy, if you have a bucket you can fill it with salt water and toss it in then watch it boil
tomorrow maybe Iâll do it
Does anyone have the image showing the center area of the negative pole of a cell, where one should not weld?
I have a battery with a huge discharge bms that Iâm fed up of (the bms not the battery itself)
Whatâs he best way to remove the bms and replace for a small daly one?
Thanks a lot
Any tips are welcome
Pretty much plug and play if the JST is the same as the small DALY (Other than re-wiring the output to bypass, but that shouldnât be too difficult)
Gonna have to redo balance leads (one at a time and no shorting)
Otherwise just confirming that itâs redoing main outputs and thatâs it
Yea then pretty much, just the negative lead to bypass P- and go straight to the output.
once the JST is unplugged just desolder them, there isnât a big short risk in just having the wires on there (Donât cut the jst with scissors, thats the only way to short easily)
Is it possible to take out the crimped ends from the connector and put them in a different one?
yep
super lucky the bms both have the same connector so its gonna be plug and play
Thank you!
please record and upload the video if you do - thanks in advance
I would recommend a smart LTT BMS instead - theyâre pretty nice
was considering but since my old bms had the same crimps already in place⌠(daly it was)
quick question
the battery is around 3 years old and built by a very reputable forum builder.
when i opened it i noticed the balance leads crossed over at the end (i think that was pretty standard at the time)
whats the best way to sort it out? (cover them all in silicone?)
you can use fish paper to isolate individual balance wires so that they donât rub against each other. After that, if youâre feeling up to it, you can open the whole pack up and try to arrange the balance wires so that theyâre next to each other.
nope
cant be bothered
not easy to do in this situation as they are very muddled together
youâll most probably be fine just not doing anything. Just donât abuse the pack - and if it does die, then looks like you got some good use out of it so
Could you slather the whole thing in hot glue? Canât rub together if theyâre stuck together
