If you have the foot pedal, press it down and hold it after a weld. You should get some weld information (voltage drop, current, weld #). If its sub 650A, you’re probably looking at a new battery otherwise it could be a wire length or welding pen issue.
Good to know I will try that later. Thanks
Winner winner.
It says 1200 something amps, the cables are the ones provided in the kit.
The strips don’t stick together as 20ms although it burns the mdf underneath, not that I think it is an indication of anything tho
Can we see the tips of your welding pens? Sometimes oxidation buildup on the surface of the pens or its become too dull of a point. That current seems perfectly acceptable (maybe even a little bit high). If its not the tips either, I would try a full disassembly, clean all of the contacts points and re-assemble, that generally fixes general weirdness I experience with my Malectrics.
If you have that many to weld get 3 welders so you can swap between them and to cool them down and if 1 fail you still have 2 to work with without any wait time for a new.
Those look alright to me, if the cleaning doesn’t help I would contact the vendor, they’re really good for troubleshooting and repairs.
Yeah man I will contact them, seems like we have been over everything. Thanks a lot
I thought only the fuse gets hot? ^^
No disrespect intended, but I don’t think it’s at the selling standard currently expected here.
Yeah I figured it was worth asking. I’ll sell it local and warranty it.
I disagree, it looks a bit messy, but thats just cosmetics and not really a safety concern.
I think he’s right. I’ve been taking criticism about the battery from start to finish and there’s some places where I could have used more fish paper and there’s some places where I could have tidied up the wires. The battery is safe but I gotta do better to sell here
Sure, there is always rooms for improvement, but I’d bet this would live in a board as long as any other pack that gets praise in here. Looks solid to me.
The biggest problem with it are the solder joints. They are far from perfect but I know how to improve them for next time. They’re constrained by the small amount of space they have so I’ll end up measuring and cutting better holes in the fishpaper to make sure they’re even across all p groups. Shouldn’t affect longevity and it’s miles better than some of the electrician packs I see here
The solder joints looks a bit messy yeah, but that doesn’t matter as long as they are solid.
I agree. I take a flat head and whack it. If it stays then its good for vibrations.
Here’s a battery I just finished. It’s not selling standard, either. It’s more about how high the level of craftsmanship is from the guys who make and sell batteries here for a living or side hustle.
