Just finished this for someone. They’re working on the Project Delta board build:
Realizing that the enclosure segments don’t allow for PVC shrink, I adjusted. It’s not the prettiest thing I’ve built, but the wiring and construction is sound.
The cell layout in the mid sections was a bit interesting, and since there was extra space in the front compartment due to lack of large discharge BMS and no extra electronics for lights, a 12s4p fit instead of the prescribed 10s4p.
I printed the enclosure parts pretty quickly and very badly. I still had a 0.6mm nozzle on my printer from printing Groots and boats with wood filament.

Yeah, I think that if you could find model 3 cells they would be better. I believe batteryhookup got some in but they are not very reputable as a seller.

I don’t need the amps and for the price of $3.99. With a 6p and up battery I would get something around 70a and up. That’s plenty of amps going to the esc for what I do. The most I have pulled on my current build using molicel a42p is around 35a. Thats with a dual 6389 motor set up. My average esc amp pull is around 18a. Just a thought
Tesla model 3 batteries are significantly higher capacity and about the same price.

It seems the cells are pulled from packs that failed QC, but that’s because there were dead cells in the pack. Order a few more than you need just in case.

Batteryhookup had other great deals in the past and probably have others now. Many of us have way too many cells now and couldn’t resist.

apparently it was more the BMS moduals that were faulty, well that was for the first batch that were sold so idk about this batch, personally ordered 120 a while back and 120 where good.

The a123 26650 cells I got rock. I like how they sell a lot of lifepo4 and feel a lot safer playing with those. I’m selling them for 1.50 each if anyone wants 50 or more

Great success. The enclosure was a predicted casualty.
It was 3 wide plastic tabs on each side of the battery glued in that was the hold up. Duct tape crowbar for the win.
Now where do I measure for voltage imbalances?

Maybe a group buy for the Tesla cells would be a good idea, as the price drops to $3 per cell if purchased in groups of 100. Maybe a lower price or free shipping could be negotiated with a large order.
