I’m both entertained and worried by your post.

Safety shouldn’t really be quibbled over, like its not worth it

That was posted March 17th not possible for it to be in reference to the battery issue. Lacroix’s Alex commented on his post within saying he would rectify the situation and get to the bottom of why he was told some of the things he was by customer support.

Had to dig a bit for this one. First China battery I bought a few years a ago for comparison:

Honestly that battery actually looks okay. They even have fishpaper under the balance leads

The fiberboard in the middle is a great insulator too

Before I get flamed, it’s not to our standards obviously, especially with the nest of balance wires, but it doesn’t look like it would actually have any problems for a good while.

Exactly my point :+1:t4: I think it has better construction. I have two of those 10s3p batteries. One is in my shortboard and I use it as is. Not too bad especially for the price at the time:

I agree. Makes a big difference when working on packs.

This feels sketchy:

Some progress, anyone know where I can get a replacement BMS connector for an LLT BMS?

was looking for it a bit ago but couldnt find anywhere
maybe just measure between the pins and find out what connector type it is

15 pin 2.5mm JST I believe

Yep, it’s 2.5mm thanks

The issue is the esk8 standards on battery building has evolved as we see and talk about any issue or near miss. This has lead to one of the higest standards Iv seen including the large scale manufactured packs.

This makes it a uphill battle for any one making custom packs to sell to agree to maintain the standards with all the extra time it takes when other industry’s don’t. I know @BenjaminF you do but not every builder agrees

If a big esk8 brand tried to build packs good enough to be praised in this thread, they’d be out of business lol. We build our packs like we’re paranoid freaks that think the battery is going to be dropped down a flight of stairs or loaded onto a Falcon9 rocket lol

Edit: forgot to add my point.

There’s a middle ground to be reached. Don’t ask me where it is.

I went with gas. After a couple of years the pico lighter is a bit dodgy only works if it’s cooled down. I can melt a entire glue stick in 15 seconds and it’s grate for getting in to tight spaces 6m up in the air at work. Gas Carthage only last 1 1/2 hours then needs a refill so if it’s lots of little bits I’m glueing on a desc I still get a corded one out

Interesting do you have the 308 or the 808?

My kids have been cleaning the house for months.

I can’t believe I didn’t stumble upon this earlier.

If you find them anywhere with precrimped, extra long (like 500mm) silicone wires i would love to know about them!

Crimping silicone wire sucks, the sheathing just separates. It’s really good with a dot of solder but thats a lot of work
