The battery builders club

how would the leads go on correctly think you could just paint on here for me?

This pack looks like shit anyway, itā€™ll be good to redo it

the leads are soldered to the correct places, just the opposite leads are soldered there
first is on last and last is on first, etc

yeah but since I have that extra leads from using a 13s bms for a 12s battery, is that gonna work the way theyā€™re soldered if I depin and repin everything the other way around? Sorry my brain canā€™t compute

Yup.
You have just started with the black balance wire at the wrong end and wired up the plug backwards.

Cool appreciate the help guys, TY =) Iā€™m really nervous about depinning is there a tutorial or anything on this you guys know? Part of me almost feels more comfortable cutting the connector and just flipping it and resoldering wire-by-wire

Both work. Wires is less risky. Relocating the pins likely to be faster and better finish. But you risk breaking it. Maybe?

oofda, thatā€™ll be a fun project :joy: :joy:

cut a bunch of pieces of tape and tape each lead to the desk in order as you depin
make sure you donā€™t flip the connector after depinning and end up repinning the wrong way again(donā€™t ask how I know)

They are some nice rings. Where did you get?

oof. I just read through all this. :face_vomiting:
I would desolder the leads at the batt. To me itā€™s less work and less risk than trying to de-pin that connectorā€¦ good luck, at least you only let a little smoke outā€¦

Not to mention that the Daly BMS is bitch to depin with the glue/sealant.

Hey all. Looking for fire suppressant basics. I recently moved.to an apartment and will begin building a battery soon. Will also of course get a big box of sand to toss things into.
Looking for a fire blanket and extinguisher that will work for liion. Any tips?

They sell different sizes for different prices.
I have some 1x1m and one 1.5x1.5m

Edit: also good to have one or two 5L drinking water bottles close by. You can add some salt to the water if you want.

Dry wall is cheap and a nice surface to cover the table for example ( or build a fire proof bunker)

Nice yeah thatā€™s the same looking one. Iā€™m pulling it off Amazon though. Let me link the extinguisher

Thatā€™s a good idea. Iā€™ve got a spare plastic 6 Gallon carboy for the homebrew. Iā€™m also going to get a bucket of sand as a designated charging spot on the balcony. Luckily my build is topmount so Iā€™ll be able to remove it for charging

I have two small normal fire extinguisher at home. Not sure which classification. Looks like b,c,e

But honestly, if the cells burn they burn.
The best you can do is to make sure there is nothing close that can catch fire, throw fire blanket on top and let the cells burn out. When they burned most of there energy, take the bottles of water and pull it over.

Plus tip: close doors too other rooms and get a mask so that you donā€™t need to inhale the smoke.
