Ahh but he didn’t protected copper it will corrode over time :frowning: That’s why I am looking into platting it with nickel so it would not corrode because pure copper is nasty

I think he also nickel plated the copper in the past.

I did only one pack of 0.2

I do 0.1mm often

I tested plating it. Welds easier and is perfectly protected but honestly I don’t think it’s neccessary unless the battery is in a very humid environment. Kapton, eva foam, PVC shrink etc…
It barely shows corrosion over the years. Even if it does the green oxidization happens only on the surface so the power transfer is as good as first day.
I don’t know about the packs I sold to others but the packs I made for myself have no rust at all.

I know, but the corrosion can weaken weld and etc, plus its better safe then sorry  Also platting is not so hard just tedious job if you have a lot of them to make like my case

I agree. Plating is easy. I just don’t need it so I do not plate anymore

By the way on the topic which wielder do you use to weld copper? and how it welds? harder then nickel?

boss level welder, or look at his youtube channel

I found that make every connection detachable are more convenient rather than soldering them directly.

The .2mm nickel is a much stronger physical connection than the .1mm copper and the strength is comforting. Sandwiched seems ideal

well .2mm will not handle the same amount of current as .1mm copper can. Regarding sandwich I don’t really trust this kind of stuff as you don’t know what can happen in that sandwich.

I am looking for at least 30-40A like minimum nickel in this field sucks

Just idea why I am looking for copper is because of small strips between two cells on big P packs nickel is okay

I’d really just like a quick explanation on what each part of a battery listing means. 10s4p etc. I have no clue.

Here, i’ve got the basics covered
