Can you get at it from the header connector? Or at the balance lead tabs? Im thinking testing 1 -2 2-3 3-4 and so on to see what exactly the weirdness is going on. It’s just strange readings you reported previously and my hope is it will become clearer with more information
Oh man that thing was such an abomination i’m not sure if I actually shared it. It was hideous.
It was for a kaly xl deck and eboosted enclosure, the dude absolutely insisted it must be 18s8p. Clever me refused to build the complete build but stupid me said that I would make him a gasket.
I ended up with a 1+kg, 1 inch thick polyurethane gasket molded to the eboosted enclosure. It did it’s job perfectly, but looked fucking atrocious.
I also skinned the deck and to this day I swear it was the ugliest skin I ever did. God i hated that board.
The battery build was fun tho!
In the end, i don’t think the board ever got built out. I never saw it on any socials or ever heard from the guy again
Ive got an old battery that ive not used in a while, the cells of which are unbalanced. Before i dispose of it out i’m going to try and revive it. Ive read that I should use a very weak charger and charge it very slowly. What strength charger would you lot recommend, 42V? another type? Should I charge for an hour then leave it for 24 hours then another hour, and so on?..what would people recommend?
Unbalanced or over discharged?
Don’t take advice from people on the web and instead read what the manufacturer states you should do if they get to a low voltage and if you can even revive them.
What cells?
@jack.luis ur upset again. What would I need to write to make u happy?
@xsynatic another who is upset. Can u put ur problem with my response in words?
@hummieee
40t
it’s a 12s4p pack
Is it unbalanced or low voltage or what ?
@Geo_Engineering_FTW
unbalanced I believe
@hummieee
What’s supposed to balance them? Why not working?
Charge cell 11 to 3.68v and do a cycle and retest.
it’s not been charged in 3 years, maybe even 4
I didint know that you can select specific cells to charge. May I ask how you do that, through the BMS im guessing?
Just do it manually. Why didn’t the bms do it?
I might need some instruction there. My knowledge begins and ends with plugging it in (I did not build this myself)
Have a multimeter? Have an adjustable power supply?
I’m worried that because it’s not been charged in years that I need to treat it differently, i.e charging it slowly?
Working on a pack like this can be dangerous. If you do not have the skills necessary to do that I recommend you get someone else to or get some more direct help. Ideally in person or over a video call.
I don’t think so. Never heard of that. Where u read that?
yeah sod that, im not doing anything that requires any battery building knowledge. I purchased the battery for a reason
cant recall, coudl be fake news I guess.
So would you just suggest I plug it in as normal and charge it? There was never anything wrong with it, im just concerned about charging with that cell unbalanced
Maybe ur balancer does its balancing at the top of the charge. Probably.
If u can simply charge up that one group of cells it’s likely fine. Why it dropped so low isn’t good but likely ok.
