I like that balance board.
Do you maybe still have a link to it?

Finally finished it  this has pretty much just sat in my studio for the past couple of months cos I havenā€™t had a big enough chunk of time to complete it.

Now to get it in the board and get that all up and running.

Edit: it works

I donā€™t think they make it anymore.

Look at your graphics card. Then you will find this plug, because it is a combined version of two 8pin PCI-E power plugs.

Itā€™s all good bro, I worked it out. The charger came with a breakout board, I connected the cable to the board and measured continuity from the straight 12s connector on the boardā€¦

And about 5 mins after I had mapped it out, the manufacturer sent me the pinout diagram posted above

I know. :joy:
I have a shitton of these at home.
Not in this form, but all the cables you need to build a PC.

Wow weird. The 4 port ones still seem to be available.

@Andy87 I have read at least once on rcforums of catastrophic failure (smoke filled house, melted Balance board) despite all the fuses. And some people complaining the polyfuses develop some resistance and so do not allow proper balance charging.

Thatā€™s interesting and would expect.
so might not be the best option than.
Thx for the info @deucesdown
In general Iā€™m not big fan of parallel charging lipos. You never know how the internal resistance might change over time on different lipo packs.

Hey but itā€™s no different from welding cells into a p group, right?

The FMA labs parallel boards are most likely the safest, with good quality control. Charging lipos seems to come with some risk no matter how careful you are.

Wow, nice work! Very nice seeing all the voltages go up!
That charger is insane!

The charger makes me weak at the knees. I donā€™t want to give it back to itā€™s owner

Yes and no.
I think lipos are more sensitive to IR changes.
Also to look for example on RC stuff itā€™s likely you run 1p, so different packs will see different load and with it age differently.
Iā€˜m as well not sure if people always match voltage of the different packs that well before start charging.
In a welded pack thatā€™s different.
All cells should see the same load and should have matched voltage over all.

Give it back! You deserve the bigger version of it :relieved::joy:

I was like hmmmmm until I saw the price. Still, hmmmmm!

Its no longer a hmmm to me, as soon as that baby started humming and showing me all that precious information I was sold. And @Andy87 is right, I want the bigger brother

Haha, I looked it up tooā€¦

I can confirm itā€™s a very nice charger.
Might make sense for the one or the other to get it directly from China.
In the trampa complete pack the price is very good thou.

You can get it for half of the price, minimum.
Still a lot of money, but you get what you pay for.

I really donā€™t need 15a or 25a :rocket: but I do have a few boards >12s.

But if it went up to 15s (maybe 16s for future proof), I might be in serious trouble.
