LTT Smart BMS
I believe the standard is max 20a.
I don’t remember what Mooch’s cell values are for 40T, but yes that math is right
No, the battery amps of the vesc are what you need to pay attention to, you can pull way more motor amps and pull less battery amps, per side

I thought that was discharge - do you know where can I find any data/info to support this?
Awesome, thanks

Could you elaborate? I thought the motors pull current through the ESC, which in turn pulls through the battery?
Just look on the LLT webpage haha the specs are there
Yes but it’s not equal, for example I could pull 115a on my motor but it only takes 60a on the battery side. It’s kind of complicated, having to do with duty cycle and how the energy is transformed. Someone explained it on here but I don’t know where the post is
I had a look earlier and must have missed it haha. Seems it is 15A.

Right okay, that would make sense. Essentially I’m just trying to figure out what connectors to use in my build and what fuse for the charger circuit. Probably better suited for a different thread as it is not directly battery related.
Thanks for your help

what connectors
Xt90s for main discharge terminal and make sure to use the female and not the male.
Dis one:
Basically ~ twice the amperage you will be charging at.
Thanks man, and regarding the charge port, and charge circuit to battery connection, do you have any recommendations?
GX-16-2, Weipu SF12 are both good charge connectors, there’s also some LP ones that people use
Not sure what the other connection is you’re talking about but I usually use XT-30 internally for the charge port

Cheers. And if I’m using the XT90-S for the battery, do I also need one for the loopkey?
I’m pretty sure the antispark part only works the first time its plugged in so yes you would

NO.
Weipu sf12 is a very nice connector, SF20 or CNLINKO Lp20 for higher currents.

No yourself you’re just a hater
GX connectors are fine

I used to advocate for their use, but after having mine break twice I’m sick of it.
Mine have lasted a couple years now but I can afford the 8 bucks per plug for SF12 so I’m probably going to move to that
Also charge ports should receive almost zero load unless you’re fatfingering it or hanging the charger off of it

It snapped in my backpack. The plastic bit of the charger end is very fragile.

Hmm, I guess mine live in my cabinet 90% of the time so that hasn’t happened, but I did commute to work with it like 50 times at least

If you’re planning on charging at 8 amps or below my vote would be the metal dc jacks that you can get just about anywhere. They’re supposedly rated for 10 amps but I have only ever charged at 8 and they barely get warm. These guys:
They’ve a small form factor and they’re cheap and easy.

Are there any issues with using an xt60? I want to future proof in case i choose to fast charge in future

Dust and stuff. Panel mounted XT60 female and a 3d printed tpu dust cover would work

No issue but you’ll have to change the fuse so make sure you wire an in-line holder.

Xt30 ftw
Xt30 installed to modified plastic barrel plug housing and spring loaded dust cap
