which BMS and charger are you using exactly?
Ride cautiously on it? Iām not sure haha discharging batteries is always difficult unless you can ride it
I always have this issue when I charge a board up and then donāt get to ride it haha
Doesnāt both the charger and BMS have to fuck up to allow overcharge?
I would think so thatās why Iām confused
@ceasium can you measure the voltage at the charger leads with it plugged into the wall
depends on the BMS and charger in question, what are you using?
Its not really built, is it bad to leave at 43v until its finished?
yes as was previously stated letting it sit at that voltage is very dangerous. at the very least connect it to an ESC and motor and spin the motor for a while
I had a daly bms I got from one of the battery builders on the forum and this charger YZPOWER 42V 5A Battery Charger for Electric Scooter Segway Ninebot Max 36V Lithium Battery Pack 8mm Connector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CZNP8QB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_5TFD56C89HD6567GXBRF
is your Daly BMS for 12s or 10s?
10s
I feel like your BMS is faulty, although it might be your charger, have you tested the voltage at the charger yet?
I dont have anti spark connector. How bad would it be to plug in the vesc to set it up, so I can discharge my battery.
not that bad, but you should get some antispark connectors, and donāt plug it in too much, keep reconnections to a minimum
Ok thanks
and if you donāt own a fire extinguisher, you should.
honestly everyone should.
but especially in cases like this.
The charger is saying 43.3v also.
I have a second multimeter to test the voltage with.
Just to double check this is on the right setting?
yep, and your charger seems to be faulty. not sure why your BMS didnāt cut off charging at max cell voltage though so there may also be a problem there.
youre gonna haver to adjust the voltage in it. its really strange that the bms didnt cut off charging.
anyways, if you have your esc and motors, plug your esc into the battery (itll spark without an antispark connector but its fine), run motor detection, and either in the vesc tool app or with a remote keep the wheels spinning till it drains below 42v. You shouldnt store the battery at full either but thats not the end of the world.
The new multi meter is saying 41.6v.
I would recommend draining the battery until 36V
