Hmm yeah I feel like you still need to have the rightgrass consistency though, I have literally so much grip with my T1’s that it’s hard to break traction on grass haha
Sounds fun though
Also, 100% brake for me will overpower traction and start going in reverse, I just switched my board to current mode yesterday for the 180’s, feels much more natural to just have current mode on
Fun fact it saved me from being hit by a car because I was able to stop in like 1 ft
Same here man. I had to fully commit to trying to fall (basically a slide tackle on my board) to get some drifts yesterday. Traction control would cut it out within a half second every time. My last slide was a doozy. It fully whipped 180 and I was expecting 90
Had to step out of the binding at the end and had that oh shit moment where I thought I had my back binding on still.
Side note, when fully bound in, what’s the best way to get back up off your ass after a fall?
I try and pull the board underneath me as much as I can and hold the far under side of the deck while flailing about.
Flip onto your stomach with your toes strapped in pointing towards the ground. Scoot backwards as much as you can til your just on your knees close to the board. Lean backwards and start to tip yourself up with your toes. I’ll make a vid if ya need!
I guess it depends on how flexible you are. I just sit down on my butt, then set the four wheels in riding position, and then roll over the top onto my knees, and stand up
Like dash said I could record a clip too haha, his method sounds like a decent way depending on how heavy your board is
More weight on the front foot and throttle or brake, that’s it. This works with any tire on any surface even on concrete. It’s just easier on grass.
True, locking wheels in current mode is not possible. I slide in current hyst or current smart mode. I tried current mode but prefer current hyst where you have to touch the brake twice to ride in reverse. If you already roll in reverse then brake is reverse throttle above an adjustable RPM. Smart reverse is not smart in reverse.
Lol, agreed. Im fine with these Fakie. I hate them riding normal and hate them on a push skateboard.
Some people just have a knack for them, I think this is one of my most hated tricks.
Ehhh,… combos are fine its just the first part of the combo that sucks imo.
They are not hard, I just dont like them. Even if it was as easy as a ollie for me, I would still hate BS 180’s going forward. Idk why, just feels. un-natural for me.
I get that, I personally feel like frontsides are more awkward after I started with backsides, but doing enough of them I started to feel more comfortable
Doing it without heelstraps like you tho - nah. That looks hard and looks like a good way to sprain an ankle flying out haha
Fun fact I tried an ollie at the very end of my session, and my legs were so tired that I landed on my gopro and broke the front screen, you might have seen on my insta story lol
Are you Regular footed?
I feel that might be the reason BS is not my thing.
Im right handed but ride goofy and well a BS 180 switch is fine. XD
Skateboarding is weird like that.
I cant do the heel straps unless, Im on the air bag.
I really don’t want to be locked in (skateboarder at heart) but the only way to really do tricks
with this big boy is to use the bindings.
Ive been trying to come up with a binding less solution for sometime now.
Everything I come up with has, to many preventions for the tricks I want to do.
Example: cant do pop shuvits the same with a binding, but maybe could with a proper foot hook.
I want to work on something thats not a binding, to help me push what can be done on these.
I would love to do some big spins or shuvts in/out of grinds.
Idk… just random thoughts I have on what will be possible.
This was actually supposed to be a much better video, with two camera angles from my go-pro and other action cam, but I accidentally left their memory cards in my apartment and I didn’t have time to run back for them
Next trick I’ll do it more fancy but this week was just footage from my phone propped against a tripod
