Epic that it’s using the long rods like a V5. Having ridden a few different SS setups as well as my V5, they’re both super capable and fun, but I still prefer the long rod setup of the V5. The lean it gives is just straight up addictively fun.
Thanks Moe, the protection of the long-rod3-link steering depends on the specific WTF-big wheels-enclose gear boxes or you’re going to update the SuperSpine design / BRP wheels with the long-rod3-link steering?
I mean is it possible to have the steering geometry of the V-5 long rod setup with the old SuperSpine chassis platform, then using Hobbywing ESCs/motors and belly pan system?
Do you think this new system JKescs 16S + 6890 outrunners totally outperfom the old SRB ESC approach : car ESCs + low voltage/high amps + high kv inrunners?
And this JKesc feels more like a Hobbywing ESC or a VESC?
I have a 12S build with two ROXXY BL Control 9120 - 12 Opto ESCs and two SK3 192KV outrunners and it definitely feels more more powerful than a 12S build with the same motors but VESC based ESCs.
I can believe that it’s just a matter of settings, but those powerful car ESCs make things wilder!
In order to have the same feeling of power, I have to match the “VESCs” (sorry Frank!) with way bigger motors like 80100 outrunners.
With a 125 tooth spur the low volt 8s-12s the 560 and 650kv inrunners would do well on 2wd for short track with the 220mm kart tire.
The SS would need the carrier heim stretched and long rodded to fit the 220 wheel with some slight deck to wheel radius clearancing. You lose bar angle and increases turn radius. Not good for short track
Does the drive system perform better? 14kw 18hp with 4 ponies pulling and braking I cant see it leaving much if any on the table.
