Spintend 75V/200A Ubox (Based on 75V/300A VESC)and Uni1 Introduction !

When I have both PPM and UART enabled on the Uni1 remote, which one is it actually using? I get a PPM signal on the VESC tool, but at the same time I get telemetry on the remote.

As long as you don’t dream about guys who have a much bigger “splintend” than yours, you’re good :yum:

That sounds ideal…

Right, but I don’t want a situation where it juggles between UART and PPM inputs randomly while I’m riding, since the throttle curves are different. I haven’t noticed anything off, and it seems to be polling PPM for input while retaining telemetry, but I don’t know what the expected behavior is supposed to be.

may i ask why there is a canbus cable included in the ubox accessories?
arent the 2 escs connected via an interconnection internally?
KR

Yeah you don’t need that can Bus cable with the UBox, but always good to have a spare for other escs.
Or just for the case you want to go quad :man_shrugging:
I never complain about free stuff thou

Anyone had a random Ubox power disconnect?

Suddenly lost all power to the board. Coasted to a stop safety (luckily).

Powered the unit back up via the power switch and everything was normal again. Remote battery was very low but otherwise nothing unusual.

Thoughts?

2nd that

Also have a yellow light on the 7th LED (CAN BUS interconnection) and now when I try to connect to VESC tool via the BT app it’s giving me a ‘could not read firmware version’ error.

Other than these issues the board operates well.

Appreciate your guy’s insight.

If the remote disconnects and fail safe is set right, you will just roll out. Could be what happened to you, maybe.
Could also be many other things but for this you would need to check faults in the vesc tool in case it will happen again and before you do switch off the UBox.

Something like this happened to me when both ESCs had the same CAN ID. I didn’t realize I’d written the same settings to both sides. It caused weird things to happen all around - sometimes only one motor would spin, my Metr would disconnect frequently, and VESC-Tool would drop connection.

Does the ubox keep configuration if battery is disconnected? I have many boards but only one battery at the moment.
