Spintend 75V/200A Ubox (Based on 75V/300A VESC)and Uni1 Introduction !

Not necessarily, i had this issue once and reflashed the fw to custom 5.3 and it fixed the problem. On another unit this mever revived it and the whole side was toast. Ya never know with these uboxes lol

Yeah nothing was working nothing I did change the fact that I couldn’t see it in the other screen or the ID box and I was even talking to the lady from spintend and she was walking me through everything I ended up replacing the can chips set on the back of the ESC and both sides were running so hopefully it stays tha way

Does anyone know the part number for these parts? Theyre fucked because of some can bus fuckery.

Also, how does the internal can bus work on these? Also seems to be broken.

Chance that @jaykup might know

The canbus chip (TJA1051T/3/1J) is right below what you circled, but I can’t read the markings on those chips from the pic.

Usually if you google the marking followed by “smd” or “smd code” you will eventually find its full part number

The Spintends have two canbus chips that should be internally linked… but I also have a Spintend with canbus issues that I haven’t had a chance to repair yet.

What issues are you having?

I have two units. On one of them the internal canbus is dead, but both sides work if you link them with an external cable. On the second unit both the internal and external sides are dead and the unit refuses to stay on unless the power button is held.

Yeah I figured this out and already have replacements on the way, but the right ic I circled has a little burn mark on it too the markings on them say VE followed by an underlined J turned 90 degrees.

https://smd.yooneed.one/ gives a ton of options but it looks like a SOT-23 or SOT-25 package

Someone knows what’s the max battery current per channel ubox v2 100a can handle pcb traces wise? I can only see data for 100A phase each channel

By 100a i think you change better the input battery cabel and motor cabel wire.

This is fore stable 100a nothe peack short time.

Hey, hoping someone can help – my motors won’t spin normally when I throttle the remote. I just ran motor detection and it went perfectly, and both motors spin by hand without issue. What am I missing?

Still having this issue, any advice is appreciated

FWIW, fixed the issue by swapping my sensor cables around. Go figure

Anyone ever had a random power disconnect with their ubox? Happened while I was throttling up a hill. Thought it may have been a battery connection but everything looks intact. Powered it back on via the switch and everything works normally

Using ubox v1 with Spintend’s custom 5.3 firmware (that I just recently upgraded to, never an issue with 5.2)

Wish we had an externally powered logger maybe built into the BMS that tracked voltage and stuff.

yeah tho it was only a cut out on one side had to turn it off and back on again to get it to work (happened twice under hard accelerating) possibly over current protection

I had this happen once. One side cut out, and I got it on the bench to check faults and that side had powered down altogether. No lights, no USB connection, Metr couldn’t see it. Cycled power and it came back up normally :man_shrugging:

Just got a brand new ubox 100v from someone who abandoned his build, however the vesc cannot detect all sensors on both the ports, everything was wired correctly.

Tried reflashing the official firmwares and still the same. Any thoughts? Or I got a broken one?

CAN connection stopped working on my UBOX V1? Type-C USB.

I opened it up to inspect and noticed this dark spot. Anyone know what these things may be?

Neither CAN with a wired connection and without work.

Using 5.2 FW provided by spintend for type-c ubox
