Difficult or impossible to pratice self defense when somebody tries to push you off your board while riding in countries where eskate is illegal though … I have been there, unfortunately, at a night ride when confronted with two young german fascists
Pushing somebody isn’t considered assault in some countries?
Seems like you’d get cited for having a board then they’d get cited for starting shit you got to finish.
Unfortunately, it could even be considered an appropriate act of “self-defense” by an “innocent” (and in this case: fascist) pedestrian fending off an evil eskater engaged in an illegal activity in front of a jugde, I fear … fucking dilemma!
here in my city the harassment takes on completely different forms: the women whistle and call after me because I look so damn sexy on my esk8 … recently a woman wanted to pull me off my board to kiss me and feel my nuts. I’m thinking about stopping, it’s all too much for me
I’m telling you… right now… as a freind… Move to central florida. I know Trump is still in charge, but aside from all that nastiness and the general stupidity of half the country thinking women’s bodies are something they can dictate control over we still have awesome esk8 scenes.
Haven’t been there in a long time, but hope to visit again soon and enjoy free and legal riding!
Lucky you … sounds pretty much like heaven!

yeah I wish it were true
But really … not much negativity here … just curious people asking how I steer and accelerate and stuff like that …
lady at my neighborhood circle K is always asking me questions about my board. I walk it into the store every weekend under my arm to buy monsters or bug juice or mocha frapps or whatever, and everyone is always so chill about it. people in the line ask questions and are generally very positive. Then they ask how much it would be to build them one and that’s when the funny faces start showing up. lol
Honestly the real question should be: why so much indirect hate against EUC’s from eskaters???
There’s not, it’s all light-hearted
We all just feel they should be juggling balls while riding.
I’m saying this in the least segregationist, elitist way possible, and obviously I speak for everyone.
I don’t know so much about hate against me eboarding but I had a neighbor threaten to call the cops on me accusing me of “snooping in people’s mailboxes” when I was just hanging out in my driveway messing around in Metr standing on my board.
Sorry for being very generalizing. Should have said “some” instead. Luckily most I know, are really nice.
But then there’s also those who are not. Those who does not want to be seen with EUC’s or is just straight up judging them (at least from what I’ve seen. They might have a good reason). Hate might have been the wrong word.
However that “hate” is not even close to the same amount esk8 gets Imo.
I’ve never gotten hate for riding, Mostly people asking to try it, and how much one costs. I do get the occasional “Do a Kickflip” which is when I lean in and full throttle away.
The old people market calls me and my brother rocket man.
My friend recently crashed (on his push board) with a boosted rider on a pedestrian bridge. Although the other person was going way too fast and obviously at fault (breaking the law to begin with), my friend was kind to offer help to fix his damaged fancy boosted lights. But that wasn’t good enough because he was worried about it not being waterproof, so he continued to demand $230 for new lights + shipping, and threatening to take my friend to court.
Those kind of people are why Esk8 has a bad rep.
People who are proud of their boosted board is a different breed. I die a little inside everytime someone asks me if my board is a boosted.
