So much hate against eskaters these days

Until very recently my board was 6s…
Fastest I ever went on it was ~45-50kph (30 freedom units) but never used more than half throttle to get there (on duty cycle control).
Then again, I’m on graphene lipos so that may be a factor :stuck_out_tongue:

As a Motorhead I can say I love where electric cars are.going

I can believe that, the amount of continuous Amps available is astounding, and then you’re still only at 1P.

on what type of controller were you using duty cycle control?

100a RC esc’s - also probably a factor in the performance.

I know all about RC ESCs, things are fucking insane.

i’m pretty sure that “duty cycle control” on an rc esc is still current control but it also limits the duty cycle, which limits the rpm of the motor based on the throttle position so it doesn’t zoom right up to no load speed, but it doesn’t directly control the duty cycle with the throttle

Recommend me one that has good brakes? The set I had were 0 or 100% only which is decidedly less than ideal…

I’m selling two Max6 ESCs, but you’d have to be mad to use them on the street, or I’m an idiot (jury’s still out on this). Um, the Castle Creations Mamba XLX is what the racers use, reportedly it has adjustable throttle- and brake curves.

Even mine has settings for both throttle and brake though, and deffo not 0% or 100%, they’re progressive, the modulation is initially just twitchy going from throttle to brake.

Still both :ok_hand:

More haters = more lovers…common paradigm…So be happy, means the community it is growing more…Young skaters that hate, do not know what the first movers have to deal with, and now it is a big industry and also accepted within some colleges as an optional to get grade points…Actually within many places they are considered outlaws…like most of us… Same happend to snowboarding, many ski resorts banned with no real excuse…I had to walk a lot to catch great drops, for many years, fighting a system that was alread loosing…year 2020, skis and snowboards have the same tech, and kids shares the space, parents riding boards…but there it is always some hate remaining…

People hate everything new, like me who still hates the very idea of the speedboard. Not sure why though…

How old are you? Directly correlated to how long you hold on to habits/ideas.

I am old, my friend. Probably because I was never a fan of anything with 2 wheels - my dad died when he fell off his motorcycle and a car ran over him subsequently. My brother gave up all forms of 2 wheels straight after that, sold off his collection. But we never lost our pursuit of chasing a little adrenaline now and then.

I had a good friend die on a bike too, it took me a while before I rode again but there’s just something in me that belongs on a motorcycle.

Related and from the same town as the Hayden brothers so maybe that’s it…

Haven’t really encountered any haters so far myself.
Most of the time people are curious about the board and they usually get surprised that I built it myself instead of buying a pre-built.

The best encounter so far was a mom and her 3yo screaming SKATEBOARD!!! when she saw me, put a smile on my face that day.

I just made this up and thought you might like it, seeing as this topic has no shape.

Masterbating without porn, that’s another load off your mind.

yes sir it is. Punching hoods and windows since 2015.

Technically there isn’t one, because technically they’re only allowed to be ridden on private property because they still lack proper definition and exceptions. Law enforcement is laxxed because 1) they have better things to do like deal with actual serious shit constantly going down 2) no real statute to cite except for on the west orange trail system which has its own rules, and rule 15 says no esk8s or electric scooters or anythying motorized that isn’t a handicap type vehicle like mobility scooters and 3) most cops are genuinely interested in them because most are outdoorsey jock types.

the best and safest places to ride esk8s in Florida are nice neighborhoods. Lots of curves and hills in the central florida area, the roads are generally well paved and are a lot of fun to ride.

Two lane roads with zero bike lanes are prevelant and i avoid them, people drive too fast to see you around the trees in time. Its better to cut through the neighborhoods which are often all connected anyway.
