As esk8 is illegal here I try to keep away from people and only ride outside the city. But you always encounter some hikers or break your own rules and do a detour through the streets of a rural area. Until now people just looked intrigued, not angry or anything. But I always pass by very slowly and I wear protection from tip to toe, that seems to be appreciated.

For some reason though cars are so annoying I always go to the side and allow car shops through just cause I find myself really nervous when I am in front of a car and they are trying to get past me.
Yet the cars always do it in the most dangerous way possible and fly past while honking or just getting really close to me.

at least in california the law says if youāre going less than the speed of normal traffic you have to be as far over to the side of the lane as possible
and since electric motorized boards canāt be driven faster than 15mph on any streets or paths, in practice it means if you arenāt all the way over to the right (ie if you are taking the full lane) then itās a crime

@Arzamenable actually if you got a ticket for not being on the right side of the lane, an appropriate legal defense in traffic court would be that you were breaking the other law about not going over 15mph on an electric motorized board at the timeā¦ they canāt charge you with a new crime in open court even if you establish reasonable doubt about the first charge by admitting to one. iāve gotten tickets dismissed under similar legal arguments. (didnāt run the red light because i was busy turning left while breaking the law against riding bicycles on the lefthand sidewalk at the time)
