So much hate against eskaters these days

You gotta get one of them to try the board!

The worst is when bikers start harassing us because I feel like we should be on the same team

I’m next to Holmes county, Ohio, currently the largest Amish population in the world.

The more progressive Amish there are starting to ride electric bikes charged by solar and have bright AF LED lights on buggies. :joy:

I feel like you would get along wonderfully with @kook and @Arzamenable

I’m riding illegal, but in my experience, people just asked friendly about my board and nothing more.

lol…yep.

I tend to make people shut up pretty quick when they talk shit.

If someones yelling insults at you, end their mental health. Ive been cursed out a couple times and it goes the same way every time I just slowly stop, backup to where they were and tell them to shut the fuck up and then they go white as a ghost then I leave with my hands behind my back like naruto just to embarrass them more.

It was weird really, 2 girls just sitting there (looking like instagram wannabe models), I just passed and out of nowhere 1 of them starts yelling insults like ā€œloserā€ ā€œlameā€ ā€œoh wow you must feel coolā€ etc…

I decided to do another ride around the block just to pass her very slowly and look her dead in the eyes, she obviously did not expect that and did not even dare to look back at that point.

Never have I dealt personally with stuff like this before, then after all the hate on twitter.
So I was curious to other people’s experiences regarding this.

I honestly cant be arsed about what people think about me, but I find it a dangerous mentality especially when maybe 1 out of a 100 of those morons would actually cause harm.

We saw enough crashes to see what the possible outcome can be.

There’s your problem. I have Twitter but I rarely go on it. I find some of the worst people/things on there.

On a more serious note, I haven’t been harassed in a long time. Couple years back I was called a pussy and faggot but it seems that sentiment has died down. I do ride less than I did in 2017 so that could be skewing my results.

Most of the people I’ve encountered have pretty much just been curious and wanted to know how hard it was to build.

Then most ask if i can build them one for their Kid/Themselves. So far havent had any negative comments (knock on wood).

I don’t like Twitter, only have it for exposure of Mark One Boards.

Understandable, just making a cheeky joke :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I like that you rode past those girls again. I had one on campus yell ā€œwow your so cool!ā€ and I just flipped her off. Like why do you have to default to being a bitch? I’m not hurting you and I certainly ride a safely as possible around campus. I would understand someone getting mad if I sped by them at an unsafe speed but I’m just commuting around town give me a break.

when i started skateboarding in redding (a town of 90,000 in northern california) a couple years ago i saw almost no other skateboards and no EV’s… but lately most times i ride the river trail i’ll see about 10 or more regular skateboards, one to a few electric skateboards, and a bunch of electric stand up scooters… with these modes dramatically increasing in popularity i expect hateful attitudes will correspondingly decrease over time. that said i’m mostly riding non-electric because i like the exercise.

four years ago i got a cyclist fired from Jimmy Johns for threatening to push me off my board if he ever saw me in a bike lane. He didn’t realize that he was the guy serving me my sandwiches a couple times a week and that i knew where he worked.

People don’t just hate because they feel genuine disgust for things. I find it rare that people actually are genuinely disgusted with something, that would mean they actually care about something. They mostly hate arbitrary things unrelated to anything they actually do in life because shitposting about it is funny to them and tickles their target audience. In other words, they are desperately trying to gain approval from thier peers by leveraging us-against-them tactics. They are bullies with no concept that there are actual human beings that they may come face to face with one day on the other side of their personal screen.

Interesting view, never saw it that way.

Was your sandwich good though?

probably not for long. Self defense is a real thing. Smashing somebody’s face in because they assaulted you while riding is self defense.
