Slime for pneumatics inner tubes

The airless tires have a lot less grip as well.

What happens after about 2 years when the slime is really old or if it gets crumbly after 2 months of no use like I read? My board will probably sit over winter for a while. Do you have to throw that tube away?

You reminded me of when I was younger and heard that a training trick was to double up on the tires.

Probably ruined my hands for life trying to get everything to fit on a rim.

It did work though, wore the outer tire down to threads without a flat.

(ride was crap the entire time)

Should slime be able to cover up this hole? Keep getting a flat. I could barely see any puncture below the slime, maybe 2mm gash at most… First I put 25grams of green slime and it held air, but riding was a no go, I added 10 grams and I was able to ride around the block. I added 10grams of slime and it was fine for a couple of rides, then I got a flat yesterday.

At total of about 45grams for one tube. Should I keep adding slime or use a patch kit (link for one?). Tires tubes are 155 metroboard

slime never worked for me on any of my bikes, and the last set of wheels I got used had SO MUCH slime in them the tires wobble like fuck…after purging all the tubes the ride was much better. i say patch it or new tube

haha yeah I think i shaved like 4lb off those tires just in slime… that could be battery weight right there =)

I tried it long term on a punctured tube, it only held up a few rides max and lost air over bumpy terrain, jut adding slime never fixed it permanently.
A patch would probably help, never tried myself.

That’s unfortunate to hear, I had high hopes for the slime.

@torqueboards solid nylon liner in the tyre. Used in my past with bmx and works great, just adds weight. Pins etc can’t penetrate the tyre that way.

Anyone w/ experience w/ balancing beads for esk8 boards? I use slime too but best to balance first before slime.
