Vacuum bag all the electronics or seal them in silicone, then think of the enclosure as vented
Tim had two of these decks when doing mine.
He mentioned my bolt holes seemed further apart than the other one.
I tried to slowly install it while hitting it with the heat gun here and there like I have with other enclosures in the past, but half of the bolt holes already blew out just bolting it down.
Dang, yeah I had issues with the bolt holes originally and blew out some holes in the enclosure, but then I drilled the holes out bigger (in the deck and in the encl) and used some plastic weld on the holes and they’ve held up since.
Yeah Tim installed my inserts already.
I did, its a pain in the friggin ass, the corners are too tight. The fibre will “fillet” itself by pulling itself up from the surface.
@Skunk this looks banging!! @Venom121212, why print the puck top wise? If printed the other way around, wouldn’t need supports right? Noticed most are printed the way you did it, curious as to why?
Looks like the right amount to me lol
i wish somebody had a fishpaper subscription with multiple tiers. Just keep delivering it. I’m always almost running out lol
I printed the top half of the puck Bruce shell upside down so no supports like you suggested.
The bottom half curves too much to be printed on its outer face and would have had a lot of support to remove and looked very ugly.
Ahhhhhh that makes sense. Cool. Thanks man!!
Are those the little adhesive backed squares?
Yarp, 4p I believe.
Pretty sure I’m using the exact same box; going to use @Winfly’s compression system instead of spot welding though. Looking forward to how this comes out.
@Skunk you dog. I spent weeks looking for a box with the perfect fit. You find it for me just like that!
That really is a great improvement.
I didn’t like pelican style cases much myself. But this one I do for whatever reason.
Glad to see others using it.
How did you guys attach yours?
One of those headrest velcro doo-dads to keep it from sliding around and then a couple elastic velcro straps to hold it down. I swap this battery out with a smaller 12S 14ah pack in a different enclosure though, so it has to be modular.
Otherwise, I think I’d go all out, bolts through the board and enclosure, isolation layer between the board and encl, really secure and set up for durability and reliability.
