I went down at 43 recently, it’s definitely nerve-wracking. Also got lucky. Glad you’re ok.

I keep a small boy on staff for just such occasions.

They get to miss the mark by 3’ in either direction. They were 12’ off the place I “ encountered “

Just a nice ride around lake cscade. This is an awsome loop but its best enjoyed at night. The tight turns and poor sight lines require me to keep speed down, lest i impact some one elses experience or impact a large water fowl. I want to hold TT races here, after fencing the lake so boards dont swim with the ducks !

Placed in the right place with proper lighting, the suit gets them 60% of the time every time

This isn’t hypothetical, it actually happened to me. way early before any of this fancy retail stuff was around, back in the day when the only way to get a 4.10 VESC was to solder it up yourself I built my own remotes using XBee modules. One day I’m riding on a trail and I give it just a little more juice, then let off, but the let off part doesn’t do anything, nor does any other command. And the board is slowly accelerating.

I’ve got chain link on one side and blackberries on the other, and a lot of battery left.

My solution was to kick backwards as hard as I could, bail and try to run it off, which worked, but I got the worst bruise on my heel and walked funny for weeks after that.

The board kept accelerating but eventually augured into the chainlink.

UNFORTUNATELY i was not speaking hypotheticly either. I am waiting to see what really happened before adressing it. I sometimes post before thinking,in this case im thinking before posting. All i can say is 1)MY 500$ worth of gear is good for 50 mph chashes and 2) its paid for its self

Isn’t this usually caused by busted remotes? I know there was a big kerfuffle a while ago and the Hoyt remotes needed to be battle hardened.

I’m not sure why manufacturers don’t use Hall sensors rather than potentiometers.

The receiver is suspected, but this is a very isolated incident, and extreme abuse , 2200 miles of flawless performance with average speed of the board being 26.5 mph. I got it all so hot for so long, did 45 over rough roads, crashed etc Fluke things happen as long as they are looked into , I don’t think the sky is falling
I’m trying to talk less when I have nothing to say, I don’t care for the taste of my foot .

I know when I get on a board so many people worked hard to ensure my ride is both insane and safe, multiple systems from different vendors, on the cutting edge of the state of the art. They all try their best to make it safe, insane, profitable, compatible. Holy shit what an accomplishment! Thank you! If you fuck up every now and then , well I’m dressed to get up!
