💩 Shitty DIY and nothing else!

That’s ok, they’re BAESK8 branded. I’d scrape off that logo with rocks every chance I get.

Backstory: grabbed this off Facebook, apparently his large friend got on the board and it flex d so much that a few of the series leads got ripped out, so he’s salvaging the cells to re build the pack.

Talking about shitty DIY…

This was my first build before my first esk8 ride ever

The skateboard deck was bad to ride so I swapped it after the first ride

Having all the weight on the rear was really bad and lead to wobbles. I wanted to save money and use the same battery and vescs for MTB, too. That didn’t work, so I made an ugly massive enclosure 100% made of wood :joy:

More shitty DIY, I used so many spacers on the truck axle that the lock nut didn’t lock. I was riding and suddenly the driving wheel outpaced me and I was sliding on the motor mount (the long scratch in the pic), that was scary. The wheel was rolling further and crossed the street

Yeah my first diy is not that much better:

I was first thinking of soldering the cells together, but that was not easy possible. Then I have used battery sleds with hours of work soldering it together.

I used first a printed enclosed but on the first km it had a big crack due the flex of the board. Then I bought an aloe U profile and fold the front and back side so it was a big enclosure.

I had a cheap ebay motor mount that came loose after 50km and due that the motor hit the ground. After that I swapped to caliber trucks with that cheap motor mount from hobbyking that I still am going to use on a new mini penny board to build.

Some pictures to show the crap :stuck_out_tongue:

You ran this without protection to the battery for 10k km?

there is some kind of plastic around the battery under the shrink wrap.
What’s concerning is that it is strapped to the middle of a flexy deck

Nice simple enclosure building! I plan to do the same soon. What would you do differently? Any tips?

Yeah, but Even if it doesnt flex and water doesn’t get to it - one time sending it off the curb… puffff … fire…
