So when I got my board I got my wife a cheap 180ish$ e-scooter and honestly.. it’s great for what it is. She can get up to 17-19 mph, and she’s always got more battery left than I do after a ride (granted she weighs like 125lb.. but still). Main issue is comfort, and on acceleration she just can’t keep up which gets annoying. So I’m looking for something that can 100% hang with my current board and at least can more or less hang with my next board. Even if my next board is faster I doubt I’ll go beyond 20-25 with her so 25ish mph is where I’m looking. Also looking for good range, and she really wants a comfort upgrade. Finally we have a lot of little dirt/packed grass cut throughs that’d be useful to use, and although I don’t have an AT yet, I want to plan for it.
So basically 25-30mph, as much range as we can, off-road, and comfortable ride. At this point I’m thinking Segway zt3 pro is the obvious choice.. at her weight I think the advertised speed/distance specs should be pretty close to realistic, and 18-30 miles at 15-24mph is plenty. I’m also gonna go out on a limb and say that it will be 1000% more comfortable than her current no suspension, small/hard tire scooter. Only obvious drawback I can see is the weight, but I’m thinking the ground clearance should make getting it over our front stoop fairly reasonable and I’ll always be there to get it in and out of a car so not that worried.
Anyone have any crappy experiences where they’d say no definitely avoid this one? Budget is under 1k and the zt3pro seems to be on sale pretty commonly for 850-900 and I’m fine with that. I don’t want to go with a “comparable spec” but no name option just to save 100-150 or so, but I am open to other brands that people have good experiences with/ are reputable at lower/comparable cost but not trying to spend 1200+ or anything… So anything else you’d guys recommend I look into or do you think this is a solid choice?

Her Amazon special has solid honeycombs and I just kinda figured it’d fall apart well before they (or much else for that matter) would get worn out enough to bother lol. I guess the zt3 is single piece tubeless, and they sell them as a replacement front/rear assembly so you just swap the whole thing out..I guess they assume if the tires out of tread the rear motors on its way too? Idk..but of course both front and rear assembly’s are out of stock currently haha. Not sure if that’s an indicator of parts availability or just dumb luck.
I had actually stumbled onto the mini walkers and thought they seemed sweet, but too expensive for our needs. There seems to be a lot in the 12-1600 range which is more than I want to spend (have to save for my AT too lol) and there’s a lot on Amazon in the 5-700 range but I feel like that’s too much risk for that much money.
I work in Cambridge ma and scooters are everywhere but I’ve only seen a few off road ones. There’s a group of 3-4 I see frequently that have various color anodized cnc rear swing arms that look just like skunk2 lower control arms for eg/ek civics.. if there’s any Honda guys here they’ll prob know exactly what I’m talking about lol, but idk if they all have them because they’re good, or because they just bought the same scooter. Also idk what scooter it is, or if it’s a stock or aftermarket arm, so can’t even really guess what it might be based on pics online. And they’re too busy doing wheelies and sliding around corners for me to stop and ask.
