Hy guys
I was looking forward to get 2 of those neo boxes in future but as this project went into strange directions i quit this idea
Now i want to ask which is a good vesc to go for?
Currently im running 2 focboxes on a 12s setup i just want to know what to go for if one of them smokes out.
I need to go for 2 single vescs because of my board setup.

I see your point, but Dex knows the forum game well. As soon as he puts it up, it will be nonstop questions. So my guess is he will have all his ducks in a row before that takes place.

Erf, i’m getting back on the board post lockdown and wanted to buy two of them for a 2wd upgrade. I’m glad i waited for reviews before buying this

I’m out even before I’m in its just too painful to read
Took a closer look at the neoboxes today. Replacing the phase leads because the solder creeped up about 10mm into the wire making it very stiff at the connection points. And @kook mentioned some pins had significant stickout so I snipped them a bit shorter.
First thing I noticed was that the thermal pad on the PCB was not making contact with the case at all. @Sn4Pz mentioned this a while ago should have checked then. Anyway, I ended up cutting off a piece and doubling the pad up on the fets, now it should make contact, curious to see if the temps get lower, will probably do a ride today to find out.

Did the same thing. Snipped the pins shorter and put an extra layer of Thermal pad on the fets. Not the one from the neobox itself but a different (probably less effective one?) Haven’t tested it yet.
