Savage1 TKP Trucks

Lol goddamn. Thankyou. The last few setups have been gear drives so my brain is backwards

Could have been easily avoided if only you forward mounted your mounts, which is the only correct orientation anyway.

Careful. That’s what @glyphiks parents used to call him.

That could have had a fun outcome. Damn you.

With Albert, crashes are a feature, not a bug.

Ermmm… i’m gonna need to start saving pennies for another set of these!

Holy shit they feel so great. For the record, thats the fastest i’ve ever been on esk8 and I didn’t even break a sweat!

I have the front set up as narrow as it can go, i printed spacers to take up the extra axle space

I changed out the bushings for double 96a krank barrels in the rear and the front for 90a krank barrel boardside, 90a krank cone roadside. I feel like i want to flip the front wheels and go a little softer in the front.

But holy shit. This thing is on rails. I can’t believe how easy it was to hit top speed like it was nothing!

I love you Phil, i need more. And a narrower front hanger for when i get the next set for pneumatic :kissing_heart:

Bro,

You just expressed my thoughs.
This set just opened so many options.
I will have to start saving to realize the ideas i have.

That’s the beauty of a well made set of TKPs. You can go faster without even trying. So much more confidence inspiring!

@glyphiks, I’m Happy they are working good so far. I know you are a good and honesty critic, so please feel free to offer any constructive criticism to make these better for us all!

Sorry if I missed it, but what’s the final pivot angle of these trucks?

I had the realization just now that one way of avoiding speed wobbles when hitting a rock or bump is to make it so that a lot of lean is required to turn the truck. (Or a longer hanger) RKP trucks have limited lean before the bushing stops you, but TKPs have more, so that might be a contributing factor to why people reviewing these praise the stability

I think it has a lot to do with the width. They do take a considerable amount of effort to turn, i was quite surprised. Hence why i want the front narrower.

Gonna take this weekend off.

I’ve got 20 more sets almost ready, 12 are spoken for, after that, I’m gonna make a few hubs for me, and then make my drift trike!
Cheers,
Phil

So stoked i had this build ready for race night. These trucks handle incredibly well at speed, but they’re a little lacking for me with manoeuvrability.

My surfrodz have a much narrower hanger and turn on a dime and i’ve dewedged the rear truck to compensate.

The downhillers came to race night again tonight and suggested that rather than softening the bushings in the front, i should wedge the front.

So i’ll get a 5 degree riser printed up for the front and report back.
