Safety gear recommendations?

Hey team I need help with pants or something

I took it so hard going up a very steep hill I got the wobbles, couldn’t manage it, chose to bail, was going so fast I couldn’t run it off, totally ate shit.

Yes I had most of my weight in my front foot but that’s not the point. tsg trailfox backbone did its job, i’m pretty fine from the kneepads up, but I got a good gash below the knee and a bad scrape on the ankle.

The denim jeans I was wearing has no scratches or gouges over the wound, and the thick cotton socks I was wearing similarly had no damage. So, I assume Kevlar/aramide jeans wouldn’t really have helped.

Any suggestions for pants or legsuits that can protect against the abrasion that comes from being decelerated from 30 to 0 by a short stretch of tarmac?

Also, wtf ankles. Should I be wearing hiking boots or something?

I pre-ordered the lazy rolling sweat pants with pads. Doubt that will help with street sliding too much though. I have these on my Amazon list I’ve been eyeing.

I don’t love the ribbing look around the knees but the black seems to hide it better.

High tops are next in my list. Ones with some actual padding around the ankle, not like converse.

Anyone have glove recommendations? I love the idea of the Sector9 DD Lightning’s, but they are sold out everywhere (possibly discontinued?). Anyone else have a good glove with impact protection on the wrist that doesn’t require cutting the index finger for remote operation?

Check sector 9 boxer

I have been wearing these shorts now.

I had everything else you can imagine on during my last fall but not the shorts and went down on my ass…

So now shorts on every time.

I’m a huge fan of the jackets with actual slide pads. Been wearing the fox Titan.

Same here. I’ve noticed that EVERY protective jacket I’ve come across has a really short waist line though, crop top style. I love my Amazon one for winter but tuck my shirt in so it doesn’t look weird.

I love wearing mine and looking “super cool” around hot college girls on campus…

I really would love a full length one.

Deal. Which one are you sporting?
I am also worried the fox is going to be hot hot hot in the summer.
The Chinese know off one I have from Amazon may actually be a bit cooler…

Also looking for padded shorts that may be the coolest.

I should level up the look. And just wear the padded shorts over some tightie whities and nothing else…

I’ve got this vest for summer:

I hardly ever wear jeans…
Have only tried them under sweatpants, exercise pants and exercise shorts. .
I don’t think of them as super bulky…

i wish mine were longer, too (i’m 5’ 11.5")

but if the vest doesn’t strap onto your belt or pants I worry they’ll ride up even further when you hit the pavement

pardon the shitty selfie

Exactly how mine fits. It has loops so I’ll have to get pants a bit longer to wear them higher, gramps style.

Ha. You guys don’t even know what cool is…
If I had bigger boobs they would be hanging off the bottom of mine…

ahh i see - I think i like jeans for a little more abrasive material. Wondering if something like this would fit underneath (a bit pricier though) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DY7LH6V/?coliid=IB4F7R4TLJFKL&colid=3IBCG1Q2UFRLM&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it_im&th=1

Sector9 Boxers sold out everywhere too. What is going on with sector9 gloves? are they going out of business? Anyone got a good full finger glove with slidepuck recommendation that is actually in stock and works well for remotes?
