RipTide Sports Pneumatic / Composite tire project

Undersizing the inside diameter and and oversizing the width can address the slip issues readily since the hub halves will compress the tire tighty

Here is some of the indexable concept variations with very few different components you have a lot of variations. The knobs can be aligned, overlapped, as well as various other out of phase positions.

What the picture above does not show is the indexing device as well as the method we use to mitigate centrifugal expansion of the discs

No longer a pneumatic tire project?

Still alive but there will be detours along the way…it’s the going, not the getting there that is good!

Do you have an idea of when we could expect to be able to test or or purchase something?

Sometime in 2021 I would guess.

Production of our current products has exploded and forced me to be heavily engaged making parts since so much of how we do things is a trade secret. I am trying to get these test components made this month and next so with changes, possibly the end of October for test sets to punish till the end of the year.

I gave it my best shot, pretty ok for a first attempt. Went too far left at the end and got in loose dirt.

Leaving if you want to see:

I could definitely do it before with cloud wheels and AWD/RWD but this combo makes it a huge challenge.

NGL i would LOVE to see a tubeless pneumatic, an aluminum 1 piece rim with a beaded tire… but thats just me…

do you also want a set of wheels to be a grand??

but i agree

the rim is the most expensive part of the purchase… the ONLY issue i see with a properly made rim is gonna be stretching the tire on the rim lol… but it could be done… I’m just sayin, cars have been doin it for a while, and seem to have relative success

hell a set of sixshooters (not sure if those are still a thing anymore) would be the actual cost of a set of rims, maybe a little more as it would be a solid billet vs split rim… but even so it shouldnt be much more

Tubes are an outdated concept, that why i was excited to see this new offshoot Brad is working on right now. Since this whole dream of high end pneumatics is out of reach work with what we got.

Its better to not mill in the case of a one piece rim.

Parts reduction time. I think the 1/2 tire concept will be good to continue with first since it is working so well on my Stooge Raceboard, we can do it faster and cheaper all the way around. The three on the right is our current path. These should fit, Mertoboards, MBS Rockstars, Trampas and Evolve pneumatic hubs.
