RipTide Sports Brackets designed to adapt Channel trucks (MBS, Trampa, Lacroix Hyper, Kaly) to various longboards

So you’re using an indexing pin to adjust the leaves? Offset detents in the leaves?

That doesn’t leave much meat in the hinge if you go too small.

It’s an interesting idea!

I’m assuming this would be made of steel?

Can you explain the function of the hinge?

PM’d you again but I’ll put it here too
I’m not an engeneer, though :stuck_out_tongue:
I know it’s not thick enough but you get the idea

No worries on the engineering part, concept first then make it work. Not judging here!

if you reduce the number of positions it may make it much less expensive to machine.

go to a square pin and do two positions, 30 and 35.

this should be much cheaper to machine

symmetric hole hinge:

asymmetric hole hinge

the asymmetric hole lets you orient a square pin in two ways to allow for a 30 or 35 degree mount.

35 degrees:

30 degrees:

just throwing ideas out there.

And you could use standard keyway stock to test with.

I’m starting to like where this is going

I hate this exact idea :joy:

Looks pretty!
Do you have rear lights on this one as well?

It will require a huge diameter hinge to make it sustainable/usable over time.
It’s better to use a strut which will secure the hinge orientation in several locations
You will releave the hinge and make the whole structure stiffer.

I think if we use the rope tensioners as the strut it would give you adjustability

You need something to sustain compression (in this configuration), rope tensioner is not that something…

What about something more like a tie rod.

Yeah. I was thinking a 25mm diameter hinge and a 12mm keyway. Even that might not be enough.

I can run the numbers later if you need them.
The problem here is you’ll have to adapt steel for this. Bearing loads on Aluminum is a no go

@akhlut didnt mean to be a twat

Nah. Is all good! :joy::joy::joy:

why a hinge… seems problematic

I agree. A solid 30 degree plate and a 5 degree wedge would allow 25, 30, and 35. The hinge and adjustable aspect seems like an unnecessary point of failure.

even better… make a 35 and a 20 and be done with it…

Does anyone run channel trucks at 40 degrees?
