I try to always keep in mind that while I’m beholden to you as the boss man, the community is paying to keep the lights on, for which I am eternally grateful. So I work for them as well.
In my mind, you simply traded control for respect, which is the polar opposite of how a mook like Jason Potter operates.

While I, like everyone else has an opinion on this, I think its better to withhold it to promote just MOVING THE FUCK ON
Take away what you will from this thread. Your perceptions are your own, and largely just aide you in how you decide to handle yourself with Jeff in the future.
Just for the love of god, remember that this is an online forum, full of people who are inevitably going to have different opinions and perceptions of the same events than you.
I think it was a good trade too. You guys are doing an excellent job, and the steady growth of the community reflects that.
When I as a costumer get the feeling that there is more to it than meets the eye, in the sense of things being different than they are presented, I quickly put my guards up. It brings up the feeling I always get when I shop new home appliances. I leave the store not knowing if I got screwed or actually made a fair deal.
Generally this is both price wise but also a much more subtle way as well, including how the seller is presenting everything about the product and the buying situation. It’s all about the feeling I am left with. Think you can boil it down to one word - trust. Trust in that what I am presented is acutely what it is.
We all perceive differently and therefore different vendor styles and tactics resonates differently with everyone of us. Maybe that’s the reason some here see the current situation with Jeff as a minor thing and others as a major.
Stuff like this will keep popping up no matter what precautions we make. I think this site has a reasonable way of policing it self. There will always be different opinions on every case. The collective mass of opinions will guide each one of us in what we choose.
I vote for “just” leave things they are and not put an extra burden on the mods.
