He rode the Project X Stiff V1 prototype on a karting track.
Maybe he can share some thoughts about it.
Spoiler: He didn’t like the Evolve style RC and he needs bindings to feel safe on a board.
This is probably because you don’t know how to ride channels.
Not a dig. People seem to assume a Carver or eMTB rides like a skateboard, and they do not. And trying to turn them like a skateboard usually yields comments like: “oh channel trucks don’t turn much” accompanied by them stalling out on a turn at 3mph.
Wrong: it’s that the rider doesn’t know how to use them.
Man.
This is funny
Hey @longhairedboy and @Briman. Send me some of your decks so I can do an unbiased review and compare to mine!
I could kiss you on the mouth this is so accurate. I’ve found anyone that has a history of snowboarding immediately gets it though.
I am sure you’ve read the first line
I don’t know, maybe you are right. You tell me, you have seen the vids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMde_krj8T0
IMHO definitely more snowboardy turney/carvey than skateboardy feeling for me…
Whole body turning vs hips down turning is how I describe it.
Lean forward a lot, turn mostly with your front foot and body, swing the rear out like a boat rudder.
I did.
Still funny though. But hey, what do I know?
@DerelictRobot you must of missed the speed up videos of @Chricious riding at 12mph. This guy knows how to carve.
Maybe you also just ask @NoWind if I know how to carve channel trucks
I have the impression none believes me a single word here, but that’s ok
I believe your highly tuned prototype board felt better to YOU and a guy you were influencing over a stock setting Lacroix that you rode in the rain for 10 minutes. Sure.
But this approach just doesn’t sit right with me personally.
But I am glad you at least made that first sentence though.
I think it’s that you potentially haven’t proven that you have enough experience to warrant negative opinions of competitor equipment that you don’t know how to ride.
What use is a ‘review’ from someone who has already declared his first-ever board to be the ‘best’ at everything?
Thnaks Sender. Never claimed something else. That are just my personal impression and I don’t want to convince anybody of anything.
It just feels strange when somebody is suggesting that I don’t know how to ride, just because they have a different opinion on something.
I don’t understand such an attitude, but that’s just me and a story for another time.
I was suggesting you didn’t know how to ride channel trucks based upon the videos you posted of you riding channel trucks + your accompanying commentary. And the fact that they have a learning curve that is often forgotten when new riders first try them out.
I don’t feel this way at all. I have no clue how you ride, nor does it matter.
But this approach was bound to catch some flak.
Bingo. Carving starts in the shoulders on carvers/eMTB.
That locknee twerking you see in the videos is from someone trying to turn it with their ankles/knees/hips like a skateboard.
Post anything with " review" and or “vs” in the title, people are gonna call out if they think your comparison is off.
Regardless of your statement of being biased at the beginning.
It’s a natural response in communitys like this.
Try not to take it personally.
Despite all that, I am still curious about the review of the E-Toxx board, that thing is just outrageous (in a good way obviously)
Great - now I know the carving guy at the race track blocking racing
Cheers from the Orange guy behind you!
Just like nudes if you send me yours I’ll send you mine
