Unfortunately not. Pretty much all of the carts I’ve seen are rear axle driven. That being said, since our esk8 decks pivot with respect to the hangers, we can’t use the deck to mount motors. Since the frame doesn’t pivot separately from the axle on a cart, you can pretty much stick a motor anywhere you can attach a mount to. Just a separate square tube frame welded in parallel to the axle would make a great motor mounting point.

I just want to have a huge fixed axle like a hanger so I can build teh big esk8

I’d love to have it, but don’t have access to welding for motor mounts lol. Would buy it in a heart beat if it wasn’t hard to slap some motor mounts on.

or honestly, if there are more powerful motors that match the mounting pattern of the stock one, I would do that too.

That’s my dream… An esk8 friendly frame.

1 long hanger like axle with a nice 22mm square profile at the ends and decent sized axle for big tires.

I’m fixing to make something ugly soon here as a test.

The problem with the brushed motors is similar to our issues with different motor bolt patterns. As soon as you go bigger, they change the pattern and the shaft is offset further.

2 big 63xx motors would be plenty fun but 2 80xx motors would be a blast.

Might be possible to design and machine some kind of mounting plate maybe… convert the pattern into our motor patterns. Yeah I would definitely do 2x 80mm.

Ngl I’d like to build and ride that, what do you use for design?

So on my son’s cart, when I stripped it down it actually looked like a nice frame setup. If I welded the axle solid so it didn’t spin, then I could use these 4 holes on each side to attach a T shaped motor mount and then it gets easy.

Yeah honestly that might work!

@Kai my friend, we have to make some kind of design/build collaboration in future  :muscle:

I asked for that. Why the hell did I make it so long?

According to RealCivilEngineer on YouTube it’s the strongest shape

like 17 different programs for different tasks. its a huge headache sometimes, but it works out in the end 90% of the time.

Hahah to be honest for the last 10 days all I think about is how to implement this idea of yours.

Any starting point you can recommend?

yes. its a constant obsession of mine. every design i do, going through elements, there are animated ones i want to use, but cannot easily implement.

i would not recommend my method at all, but start with one program.
photoshop is nice, because its so streamlined, if you actually learn how to use it. then, once youve got a lot of the techniques down, youll have an idea of what your program cant do, and can figure out ways around it.

I’ve used gimp and inkscape quite a bit, would those be okay?
