Yeah I would like to see the guts on this thing…and I wonder what esc yall using to handle 360 amps

Yeah — any pictures of the insides?

$4,100 though :hushed:

The page said X-ESC, so not sure.

Designed in USA though and the webpage is put together pretty well, no spelling mistakes or grammar issues.

Seems pretty enticing, but at Lacroix prices, they will be held to a pretty high standard

14s8p battery though for 1638wh, must be nice cells

Yeah 4100 for a belt drive…uuuuuh

yeah just tried opening a thread about it and paged @XBoard

seems like this thing has potential if you diregard the price a bit

I think @DerelictRobot should make an ESC that does like 1000 amps.

Are you using that buck converter to step down battery voltage?

Yup!

Where’d ya get it from? I’ve had some bad experiences with fakes, usually ending with the IC’s exploding.

I can try to identify it if you send a close up pic.

I got it from my first pre-built board like almost a year ago, just had it in a drawer haha. It’s probably trash, but it works for right now. I have a better one from Lacroix if I need to use it, it’s just kind of bulky and I don’t have much room in this enclosure after fitting everything.

:ok_hand:

I just get scared every time I see one and get flash backs to when my 3 exploded right in front of me…

For future reference to anyone:

LM2596HVS buck converter

99% of the time ones that look like this and have less than 63v caps on the output side are fake

These ones are real and are usually 4x as much as the fakes:

They have 63v caps on each side, a enable switch, and an LED

Lol so I should probably trash this?

If it worked for as long as it did, you are probably fine. But I’ve also had some that worked on 10s and blew instantly at 12s so it depends.
