Can you fit 380?
Not on the Tabor I don’t think that’s what I wanted to run them on
What about 460?
We should talk via DM
Is this looking likely to go ahead? Asking for a friend…
We’re up to 6 out of 8. So close…
Do the preorders get anything special besides being an early bird? Do these come with shiny radium pulleys or anything?
They get to make the R6 trucks exist outside of the Mach One.
Slight discount and only 15 sets available till sometime next year.
…7/8
Ok we have two final design updates before production starts.
The first is to our motor mounts. In testing we found that the brace likes to catch rocks between it and the motors causing some nice gouges, so we’ve decided to find a way to have no brace at all.
And to do this we had to increase the mount stiffness by 300% to withstand 50G of sideways acceleration without the motors colliding given such a small 3mm gap between cans.
The solution was to increase the mount thickness from 16mm to 20mm, and incorporate a motor protector into the mount who’s primary purpose is actually to create an L beam shape that stiffens the mounts significantly.
With these changes the motor mounts are capable of holding over 220kg sideways and could statically support motors that weigh 120kg without yielding, and we manged to achieve this while making the overall system even lighter than before.
The added benefit of all this strength is we now know from real world testing that these new mounts will be able to survive huge jumps like this (where forces exceed 55G) with a decent factor of safety.
New 20mm thick mounts:
And the second upgrade is related to the offset bushing design of these trucks. We noticed a lot of kingpin flex on the road side bushing, and realized we could significantly reduce this by creating our own kingpin.
The new kingpin will be made from 11mm thick chromoly heat treated to a high hardness to even further reduce flex, before tapering back down to 9.53mm for the bushing. And because they are precision turned the diameter will actually be 9.53mm for a tight fit on the bushings, unlike standard bolts which generally measure in the 9.35-9.40mm range.
The result of these final changes is a lighter, stronger, more simplified truck system with even more precise handling.
We just need one more order to go ahead with production
RIP grab handle for towing the board
Let’s gooooo!
Alright pulled the trigger, not sure what I’m doing with them yet but would like to see them get made.
bah you just grab the trucks!
also hold hands
gimme gimme i make new board
actually, i think it’d be great to get in on this preorder
l’m building a new board for AVS
with gear drive?
At a 30 degree angle and with motors protruding the other side? No thanks
the amount of things imma try and pull out me butt to have ut done by avs is gonna be immense
You guys are constantly pushing the envelope and its so sick to see. Yall are clearly very passionate and I hope to see these things get made
