Those of you thank did the 3d printed thumb wheel mod what material did you use and what infill

Well, don’t print it in ABS. It’s too small for the level of detail. I haven’t actually done it but it shouldn’t be difficult to install. The spring is a little tricky. I’d ask @SeanHacker.

Yep. Just a couple of screws. All you gotta do is pay attention to where the spring is and you’ll see how to put it back on the new thumb wheel.

I printed is in carbon fiber polycarbonate, petg, and pla. All worked out great. I used 100% infill just because it’s a working part and I wanted it as strong as possible.

Spring ? I don’t remember having to deal with any spring.
Iirc, all i had to do was open the cover, remove a tiny srew, swap the wheel, and put the small screw back, nothing else.

Anyway printed mine with petg 100% infill, holding well, but my version don’t have such small spikes, not sure if petg is the best for that.

These were my steps as well, pretty straight forward. I used 100% fill with PLA.

I have a similar idea. What about a 3d printed sleeve that goes around the puck connected to a handle?

Until then this is my puck mod

Velcro :exploding_head:

@kadeanderson show these guys what’s up

Yeah @natebolo knows best. Thank you for the tag. I personally hate using my hands for the puck. So @kook recommend to use your ass cheeks as hands and then using your :eggplant: as a thumb. Works wonders. Try it out.

Unfortunately mine wouldn’t work the 3d printed piece isnt deep enough and bottoms out before the screw hole lines up

Did you print this on it’s side, with supports? without? I’m trying a few different positions and wondering what worked for you

You can take a Dremel and route out the inside part if it the screws don’t line up. I just hammered that shit in until the screws lined up. PLA. With a part this small, there really isn’t that much increase to applicable strength between 60% to 100%

Not near my comp at the moment. But I printed just like it’s sitting now on the table. I used supports.
