LOL at the emoji’s flipsky used!

huh interesting. I thought my memory saw connectors on them.

Just visited the site again and they really don’t have any. (i knew it for the AS)

guess that’s what you also should’ve done lol

I mean it’s not that big of a deal though, most of us end up changing connectors anyway

Only thing I didn’t change conns on was the MakerX DV6, it had 5.5mm bullets and an XT-90 right from the factory. Very convenient

exactly.

someone make these a reality

You can’t really add series groups to a battery that’s already being used.* Adding parallel groups is much better.

* there is a way but it’s complicated and isn’t straightforward

Yes you can if battery’s are the same capacity and IR. Adding a smaller capacity and IR “S” will work but it will upset the pack for sure.

I want to do is add another s  just wondering if others have run at 14s successfully
Thank you

“If same capacity and IR” is definitely the way, but this is not super straightforward to do. If you have the means to do that, it will work at 14S

Adding another s of the same cells as the others capacity IR is not problem.

Smiley face.

As long as you have ways to measure and match the internal resistance it should be fine. I don’t think most folks have access to ways to measure that. If you do, rock on

As I said the cells are the same

IR is pretty easy to measure lots of cell testers out there.

Also there are pack calculators, that match up odd cells to make a pack.

Cells being the same does not mean same IR.

Don’t try to change his mind. It doesn’t work.

Stubborn and convinced soldering cells isn’t unhealthy for them.

The problem is he’s going to cause someone else to accidentally burn their house down by making reckless statements online. Not too much different than a drunk driver speeding down a road endangering other folks as well as themselves.

So I will continue to correct it before some other person comes in here thinking they can add some salvaged cells onto their 12S battery to make it 14S and burn their house down and kill a couple kids…

…and his reaction is “Smiley face.” What a fantastic shining example of an awesome and thoughtful human.

OK I will spell it out.

As I’ve said cells are the same new, same manufacturer same cell type same batch, they came out the same box.

The first 12 s were made of the same cells.

Now let’s hear why your reasoning why adding another S using these cells isn’t good practice?

Note, original s"s have around 10 cycles, only been used from 20 to 80% voltage. Very light use, no big current spikes really

If you already have been using the 12S battery then the aging process for the cells is now uneven, which causes their IR to not match, which can cause a battery to become unbalanced, which can cause over or undercharged P-groups, which can cause fires.

Of course there are many variables involved including but not limited to how used they are, how hard they’ve been stressed, how old they are, et cetera

Go for a ride get some oxygen take some deep breaths man hug.

I have no horse in this race, but wouldn’t this just make the BMS work extra hard?
