Sometimes motel wifi is crap, this is true.
The reality is though, that I can’t focus for five minutes on a computer without getting distracted, except for some rare occasions that I cannot explain.
New garage gets built in the next two months which is going to cause, on top of 100 year old house maintenance, a whole lot of work associated with it. Driveway, storm water piping, landscaping, joinery, lighting, benches, shelves, linings and heating. No more E-skate builds this year for me I’d say - meaning the boardamics order came 18 months earlier than needed!
I’ve also got to stop building evolve GT’s. Having made a mould, and the fact they come up cheap used now is another distraction from learning CAD. The one with the blue enclosure took me a good part of this holidays to construct.

Yeah, bought it 14 years ago. Started by replacing the roof but ended up relining all the walls, changing windows, lifting floors, replacing studs and bottom plates, I replumbed, rewired twice and insulated walls, under floor etc. New cedar shingles everywhere, built wardrobes, kitchen, made the bench from recycled power pole crossarms. Done fences, electric gate - pretty much everything myself because I’m a tightarse.
I designed the kitchen and fence / gate in SketchUp though, which was excellent but time consuming

You’re buying a battery from a ‘reputable’ esk8 vendor and when you receive it, the entire negative conductor and connections are bare, no insulation whatsoever…
You ask the vendor why and they respond with “because cars man, cars are cool 
… and houses, yeah, houses are safe. Be safe out there buddy”
Would you gladly accept and pay for the battery?

- Yes I would accept the battery. I believe that insulation on the negative bus is a waste and it’s perfectly safe without it
- No I would not accept the battery. I believe that having insulated electrical components is an important step towards building an esk8

This just in: Flipsky/Makerbase has such little faith in the reliability of their products that they put a disclaimer on their product page recommending that you shouldn’t connect your pc via USB while the esc is powered on. This sure is confidence inspiring for potential buyers lol.

A little trick to get gas line behind a retaining wall, the easy .
First call 811 or your version of utility location.
Get a50 mm ish pipe, cut a mild point on it. Beat it into the ground level with the base of your wall, get the pressure washer! Blow the dirt out, make sure you protect your new insulation from sharp pipe edges.
And you know I’m an expert because look at my sweet home gas service

It took me 28 years to notice my union stickers point to 420. Funny because we get tested almost 420 times a year ( sarcasm, obviously) Hey look, he blinked, get the piss cup! I’m sure he’s high this time!

It’s a thing, the company I went union with and was there 20 years had so many employees who were fed up test positive they don’t screen for marijuana any more.
My current job is my first ever where I was not tested at all. They were pulling crappy “ journey men “out of the hall. I was recommended bye freind/ former co worker. I’m an old school 110% employee and I’m in year 28 of being a heavy equipment operator. I don’t know if I looked like I’d fail or what, but I did not get tested and they tested my vision, hearing, blood pressure, everything but bend over and spread em.
I think things are moving towards sobriety on the job, not what you did st home last Saturday night.
This bill I’m referring to has a stipulated provision that if your job is very dangerous ( like mine) then there can be an exemption)
Assembly Bill 2188, which Newsom signed in 2022, will prohibit employers from using the results of hair or urine tests for marijuana — which can detect traces of cannabis for days or weeks — in their decisions to hire, fire or penalize workers( sometimes it’s taken me 60 plus days to not test positive)
Trust me, if you screw around with safety and peoples lives, you will hopefully be fired before they hurt/ kill somebody
Not sure how it is elsewhere, but here it’s legal. We’re a bunch of electricians. There’s a ton of work and we’re in high demand. If a shop is testing no one will take the call. I would never advocate for being high on a construction site but what we legally do after work is not our employer’s business.

The safety guy came to do a random the day I returned from Amsterdam ( before it was legal everywhere) but it was Monday so he would still test dirty. So I said “ I’m worried about the test stuff, let’s both test so we have a control”. He made a huge deal about it, refused to test and made me. So I took the fake piss out of my boot a dumped it in the cup. As our 82 year old vice president said “ if they are too dumb to pass a urine screen we don’t want them,.
