Ah, it’s the same seller i think. Military1st. Not sure what the website is quoting for shipping.

Yeah unfortunately they’re the only one that’s available here in the States. Meanwhile in the Polish shop it’s $129 euros including VAT, so even less when exported out. If I can find shipping for under $100 it’d be cheaper to ship it rather than buy it from that seller here. I refuse to believe that the cheapest rate I can find is $400 though, it might not be China levels of cheap but $300-400 from all three logistics companies sounds ridiculous.

Shipping as a private person (germany)

For packages that don’t have insurance/tracking

Is front wheel drive a good idea?

Handling is nicer but brakes are a bit grabby

See that’s more in line with what I was thinking. When I plug in Germany here for Fedex, International Economy is 217 Euro and DHL is $266 so I’m clearly doing something wrong.

Is it feasible to use this remote, ie take out necessary internals and make shell. Has anyone had luck with rc motes likes these? Does trim work and is it dangerous.

Cheeris

Plenty of people use/have used remotes like the gt2b and the mini remote, which are both traditionally rc car remotes. They can be quite good remotes, but you do hear of occasional mishaps with them.

Bang for buck is pretty good with either of the 2 above. Not sure exactly what yours is but looks like it could be a rebranded gt2b.

No idea about the trim.

Yeah i have a mini remote from tb. Its great, im more just wondering for a project, something to learn/try. I have a reciver and remote on hand for my rc car and wanted to use it but am not entirelt sure about the dangers of a remote like the one pictured given the amount of settings.

Thanks

And save 20$

Probably just do away with the trim and steering completely and don’t design them into your case. There was a few popular gt2b mods around back in the day… @Mikenopolis was it you that made a youtube about one of them?

Thanks for the help! Ill take a look at the inside in the morning, it has a throttle setting, 70/30 or 50/50 that im curious about.

You can search for GT2B mods, there were lots of them.

But just use a Mini Remote instead.

And seriously, just use a Z.mote instead of a Mini, it’s much safer. If you’re not in an urban area it MAY not matter. But finding out if it matters isn’t fun or safe. On a weak and low-power board, the dangers are greatly minimized.

Im a bit of a backpack snob. Im a Big fan of https://tripleaughtdesign.com. Some of the best gear/materials used in the world. Utilitarian. You get what pay for. An extremely helpful tool is a https://www.carryology.com
They have in depth reviews of the most sought after/premium packs/carry solutions the world over. Would be worth giving it a browse for 15m or so. Im sure you would find an alternative solution

These are tripleaughtdesign bags. Some size comparison. The edc on far left is 28 liters which is fairly large, but it has a a transporter tail to capture larger items outside of pack, and a slew of pals webbing and anchor points. Mine is an older version, newer version has been updated. Middle is Axiom s2.
The One. My opinion. Vx shell and lining(think sailcloth) with hypalon reinforcements(think Zodiac rafts). More muted though. Less ability for added modular attachments. But perfect fir my carry.
Far right is a scout. Smaller pack suitable for esk8. The fast pack pack litespeed is a good in between with many ways to lash/anchor/add modalar expansion. Still comfortable to carry. Given your situation with that crazy shipping expense i would suggest you go more on the cost of the bag. Youll have it for almost a lifetime. And the backpack is such an essential way to streamline our day to day. Sadly Triple aughts stock is usually sold out. And the used resellers (ebay) like to gouge. They do have a store in SF though that carries most of their current stock. And sorry. Long winded response. Haha. Some gear im almost as passionate with as esk8.
Almost that is.

Alright i shut up now

So much cool shit out there. I think sometimes the premium price tag limits us in our decesions. That TAD scout pack is perfect for esk8. It has an LDPE insert to make rigid, and the transporter tail can capture helmet, also bears functional admin panel to organize.
Did i mention taped YKK zippers? Haha

I’ll admit I’ve actually looked at a couple of these during my research, but none of them quite worked for me. For example my tripod is 2’ long folded and around 6" wide, which has caused issues when trying to mount on anything under 30L because anything smaller is simply not tall enough to support both ends. With astro gear I’m looking at around 30lb just for a single camera setup, so I want a decent support system, which sort of precludes a lot of the dedicated camera bags which are more for style rather than long distance packing. Hiking rucks are good at this, but gear access is a problem and a rear flap is far better than a front flap. The Wisport seems to have all that, but it’s not without flaws too. First being availability, but also it’s quite heavy since it’s an actual combat ruck and is made of 1000D NIR spec cordura. There’s no true frame either due to the rear opening, and I don’t think the buckles are the quiet kind.

Its somewhat rudimentary, but you can use different web dominators to create attachment points to lash on side profile of molle system. Someone more than likely makes purpose fit attachment for tripod. Might be effeciant to carry outside of bag anyways. This was just a few minutes to see scale on 28 liter bag, similar dimension tripod, but there are better options.
Theres a company called orbit gear
https://www.orbitgear.net that makes some interesting modular carry systems. Ive bought a few of there smalller pouches. Just know that their webbing isnt quite molle spec. Slight variation. So you would want to stick to their system
