I wasn’t aware they failed - mine has probably been running 90% uptime for that entire period too
Apparently it had 5 year warranty so it’s definitely exceeded its predicted lifespan. The computer has moved house several times in that span but it’s generally not in a super dry environment. That being said I should probably check on the tubes at some point. Something I never even though of tbh.
mine was a pump failure for sure, sounded like something was grinding inside during the last few days before it gave up. i was tearing my hair out thinking it was one of the fans.

Say im riding, and my internal hoyt reciever somehow gets unplugged/disconnected - what would happen to the board? would the wheels lock up or continue coasting with just no remote control?

althought today I inspect the board and first noticed the hoyt puck wasn’t even pairing to the board…weird maybe its damaged from the fall - i try another remote and same issue …ok so receiver problem. I open up the enclosure and do it all again - still no pairing.
I hot glued and strapped down all connections very well… I pressed my finger against the hoyt puck receiver that plugs into the stormcore, and got it to pair with both remotes… Examined the cable and everything looks great, just how I last left it. pretty frustrated that this happened…

Depends on how the VESC is programmed. I think the default is to apply a -1A braking current if it loses connection after a second which isn’t much, but the unexpected jerk going from acceleration to braking or even coasting can feel sudden and throw someone off.
Where would i check for this setting?
