You having a few pairs is actually why I decided on them over Linnpower. I liked the idea of metal gears, but it seems like they’ve been holding up really well for you. ![]()
Finally got everything I need to finish this up. Hoping to have it wrapped up tonight so I can enjoy it over the weekend… Its been a long time coming!

I finished soldering the battery together and ended up going with the traditional layout that leaves one longer lead. I was really tempted to try something like this (below), but after sketching it out and thinking through the BMS wiring, I backed off. I already wasn’t a huge fan of how the balance leads have to run through that “fish paper lane” up and down the pack, and this would’ve made it even more complicated.
Maybe on the next build I’ll push it a bit further, but honestly I’m happy with how this one turned out. I can feel myself relaxing a little more with each battery I build. Next step is to cover the exposed areas with Kapton tape, heat shrink it, and call it done.
I’m seriously stoked to try these gear drives—first time running a set.
Newbee drives are great if you don’t abuse them too hard. Make sure to loctite every bolts that need loctite. ![]()
Have you tried these CST 200x50?
Super buenos.
These are good if you’re looking for comfort more than grip. They have a bit more squish than Kendas.
I haven’t tried those yet, but I do have a set of Kendas if I don’t end up liking the Novas. Do you have experience with both? If so, which do you prefer?
Finally wrapping up! I am too tired to tidy up the post, but here are some pics in the meantime. ![]()
I was planning to line the entire bottom of the deck in this window seal I like to use, but of coarse I ran out.. Gotta improvise for a few days…
This deck was the one most frequently listed in the used deck section of Mboard?
I have not tried the Novas(only in 6 inch)
Kendas used to be my go to.
But ever since trying the CST I never touched my pile of Kendas…
Yeah, this is the one I found on Mboards used section… I keep a close eye on the page and have not seen anything like it come through again. ![]()
That good, huh? They are so cheap, maybe I will grab a set just to have as backup… ![]()
I don’t think they feel much different from the kendas.
But a while back kendas were a little bit of a crap shoot and many tires i had were a smidge wobbly…
These CSTs have always ran true out of the box.
I would expect these wear a little faster.
Still great tires.
And they also have a 190*50 that is great. @SpankDog have you tried the 190s
I have not yet tried them but they look like the perfect size for what I’m working with . 175s I’m scraping going over speed bumps and low water bridges . My 200 novas seem massive and heavy but dig them regardless . I’ll give you some feedback soon .
I also always look at them, but I’m always late. I think we talked on Facebook; I remember you said you sent the deck to Tomiboi.
Yeah, we talked on the official Ramm Paragon thread. I ended up picking this one up and had Tomiboi add carbon layers to stiffen it up.
While I was going through that thread, I kept seeing your name come up—you’d been looking for one for a while.
Not gonna lie, I really feel for you man. I hope you can get your hands on one too!
Yes, I searched quite a bit and couldn’t find it. Actually, I found one with Adan; it seemed like he would sell it to me, but the guy disappeared. I tried to buy it in 2023, but since I couldn’t find it, I bought the one from Flowstate.
Oh man, to be that close too—that’s brutal. The Flowstate would’ve been my second choice as well.
This Paragon deck/enclosure combo definitely looks amazing, but yeah… there are some real compromises. Mine actually had a few layers removed from the bottom to make room for the battery, which I think is part of why it ended up so flexy. I am sure it’s part of the reason they did not stick around long.
It’s a great idea in theory, but the fit and finish just didn’t quite feel there. I originally wanted to go 7p too, but everything was so tight. I wasn’t about to compromise on insulation with a carbon deck and enclosure already in the mix.
That said… you gotta admit—that Flowstate turned out sexy as hell ![]()

Are those Radium channel trucks?? And is that their logo up front? If so, I didn’t even know they made those.
Seriously though, that’s a sick build man.
About the truck , mine is the truck from the acedeck z1 2023 , and speaking of the deck the truth that I currently want to change my deck and truck for the Phantom X OS to be able to use my best kart kit
Naw, they announced it a while ago, then when it’s time to ship they just went radio silence and only pop up on the forum a couple times since then.
