After reading 40+ reply, and im here using 100d with 12s battery ![]()
I haven’t had 4.12s, but I agree that the upgrades would swing me to the 4.20 model. (My pair were OG 4.20s upgraded by the wizard.) I think I need a “shit that will not die” board and pair them back with the eLofty DDs.
It’s right next to TaintTown.
I’ll trade you for a unity for efficiency’s sake
no more v4 man
e: fk, i keep forgetting to pull apart my boards and sell some unities

u give me some money, i will send u a unity for free

I no set amount, I can give you “some” pho sure
Let’s get back on track. So for a budget ESC, sounds like the Maker X ESCs are pretty good. Also heard good things about the Stormcore series and avoid the Flipsky ESCs.
Sounds about right. Bkb zenith is also good
send it
You can lower your current draw by simply changing the number where it says “Battery Current Maximum”. This directly lowers heat.
Brian, not everyone likes to ride a low power, slow board.
Your original claim that I challenged was you recommending people run HV ESCs at 12S for “the most reliability”. You’ve since edited that post and tried to shift your argument & goalposts around. You do you I guess.
Given that I was involved in the design of the TORQUE6 ESC, which you tested, I think you’re well aware I know the impacts of amperage settings in a current controlled system. Trying to posture that I don’t understand what I’m talking about here is an odd move.
Where does Maytech factor in to the discussion? In my uneducated mind they looked too similar to flipsky at a bit of a higher price to care about, but having seen their motor work I feel like I should revisit them
MakerX SV6
I’ve had poor luck with Maytech and Flipsky ESCs, but that’s 2ish years ago since I stopped using them. The Maytech 4.12 were awful and could barely push 35-40A, and then I (and others) had really weird issues with the larger Maytech V6 200A; guessing it was the current sensors being out of spec/miscalibrated, presented as duty cycle spikes > 95% + weird noise at idle. Reported to Maytech and their response didn’t inspire confidence.
Neither of them are great with QA/QC and I doubt they use mainline sourcing for components.
What ESC is Ernesto currently running in his boards?
I believe he’s using Focbox Unitys: Focbox Unity | Powerful Dual Motor ESC for performance electric skate – Massive Stator Pty Ltd
"Electronics: 20S ESC Custom hardware
20S Rehostatic Brake"
Not Unity. It must be “custom”.
Oh yeah, you’re right. It looks like he uses different ones in different boards:
XL2.0 lists a “Spintend ESC 75V (18S) 300A” and the XL40 has a Unity.
