Pink Puma, first ever build. 10s4p, flipsky 4.2, dual 170kv motors

First ever serious build! I’ve been lurking around on the forum looking at deals

mboards, flipsky, and amazon and the build is finally coming together after 2 other stupid boards. The motors VESC and remote are all reused from my second board which I couldn’t use anymore because the anti spark witch caught and ruined my battery.

I got the name pink puma because of the pink in the board and the puma part because when i think of carbon fiber I think stealthy and pumas are stealth. Idk :person_shrugging:

For the deck i chose the used metro board pheonix deck off of Mboards (didn’t realize it didn’t come with a top to the enclosure).

I made the top part of the enclosure with 3/4 in plywood and sanded in and carved it so it fit mostly flush on the board. I chose pink and black to paint it because I thought it would look sick faded into the carbon.

For the VESC i went with a flipshit 4.2. After reading through the forum that probably wasn’t the smartest idea, I’ll probably upgrade to a dv4 in the future.

For the remote i chose a vx2 pro. Seemed pretty simple, didn’t really know what else I should have got.

For the motors i got some generic amazon motors for $45 each. The reviews were pretty good but I’ll probably again upgrade these later.

For the battery @pecos is rebuilding a lacroix 12s4p pack into a flat 10s4p pack. Thank you!

I’ll probably update this later but any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Right now working on wiring the battery meter at the front of the board aswell at the power button.

How are you liking the deck so far?? I am dying to try mine.

I can’t ride till early July partly because I won’t have a battery till then and my mom also won’t let me but I’ve just pushed it around the neighborhood and it feels mostly fine. There’s no concave though…

Oh, gotcha. I am curious how a zero flex board will ride.

You found someone to build you a battery, then?

Pecos is building me a 10s4p

All the old metro boards had zero flex and this one’s gonna be the same. I would probably ask someone who’s ridden one before and see how they like it or ride someone’s metroboard.

Oh, awesome! You are going to end up with a killer battery, for sure.

I have a flipsky 4.2 dual pro and I need some tips for running it on 12s. I know it’s a bad idea (I will be upgrading in the near future to a marker dv4) but any tips on settings on vesc tool so I don’t blow up going 30 down a hill towards an intersection would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE! Pecos figured he couldn’t build me a safe battery so now I’m getting one from @AlexB. I also got a untested DV6 from @fearlesstvn (THANK YOU). I just tested the DV6 out it and actually powers on. I used an rc 4s lipo because I’m still waiting on my battery. I needed the new Vesc because I’ve heard bad things about the flipksky vescs on 12s (correct me if im wrong). now I’m just waiting for my order from ali to get bullet connectors and stuff to make a loopkey. i might end up soldering the vesc straight to the motors because I’m an inpatient bum. will update if I do so.

EDIT: i really have no clue what to do in vesc tool or how anything works. any help or tips would be great!

I also got a new helmet. Don’t wanna get my head smashed in when I do fall:joy:. It’s the Bell Qualifier MIPS version.

If you are still looking for a battery, I just spotted this on eBay.

Idk how you find all this stuff on eBay:joy:. I don’t need a battery though, thanks for looking.

Only problem right now is I can’t figure out how to use my vx2 for vesc 4 on vesc 6. I’ve read that you can switch rx and tx but that’s just not working. Another problem is under voltage right now. Don’t even have 20 volts to my motors with my current 4s rc battery.

IF ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX MY VX2 PROBLEM PLEASE HELP ME!
