Parsec Aero Pro ....

Stock pulleys. I’ve gotten up to 25 on it fine. You could do an additional spacer between wheel and pulley to make perfect but tbh, I just wanted to try it

Rubs the front a bit but not bad. My plan is mad 105’s I think they’d be perfect

I needed larger wheels.

What imma be running very soon😂

I weighed my Hoyts and Mad 105’s the Hoyts were slightly lighter at 13.6oz vs 13.8oz, (no bearings or pulleys). Do either of them noticeably change the weight of the board when carrying compared to stock?

Looks as if you’re running the stock Parsec pulley, how is acceleration? How did you attach it, I didn’t think the Hoyts took Kegel pulleys?

Stock pulleys from Parsec. In terms of acceleration, it definitely dampens it a bit, but it still launches fine. Especially since I treat this as a “for fun, have fun” kind of board

I use the black, kegel compatible ones from Hoyt. I also have the silver ones with 48T pulley, but kegel compatibility is a winner for me

Do you use the thane inserts for the Hoyt 5s on the parsec?

Ya. Flats would be a bummer and the goal is to preserve the “no flats” I’d experience on thanes

Admittedly, I primarily run the board on BB105 for sizing, gearing, range and overall form factor reasons. The 5s are fun to toss on, but not my primary for now

If this thread is any indicator it seems as if almost no one is running the stock wheels with this board.

Shocker to me, having tried most of the other thane wheel choices and then reverted back to stocks. I feel like a lot of people arent even giving them a chance lol.

I thought they were fun to put around in but when I can’t get started because of a regular size sidewalk crack going up a slight grade. Bit annoying especially when it happens multiple times😂

Hard to wanna ride them when I don’t want “Central Park Horse Poop Brown” as my wheel color

Or have a pothole literally swallow my entire wheel

The presumption that people aren’t even trying them, and not that they tune their set ups to suit their needs, is an asinine presumption.

Smooth road snobs :grimacing:

Skill issues

How do you know central park horse poop brown isnt a complimentary color for you? (Serious response though is, who cares how the wheels look if they perform well? You can always dye them too)

As for potholes and bumps, ive been riding the 80s now across all sorts of conditions through houston and havent had any issues. Its plenty capable for the vast majority of use cases and while it might not be as comfortable as a 105, its not far off in capability. I can cope with that for the way they handle for carving and the weight.

Obligatory

There actually is some Central Park horse poop on there. Not much, as it’s been through several thunderstorms since then.

Unless that’s a northern rural town I’m not familiar with I don’t think you know what bad roads are.

Thane supremacy is so boring

If you’re being serious on the horse poop brown part, I’m not sure it’s a complimentary color for ANYONE

To the point where a lot of the NYC Parsec riders in chat have meme complained when they dirty their wheels

Also note, this is literally not a hangup on ANY other wheel I own, because they’re not white :joy:

Hard to explain WHY not to use 80mm wheels in NYC unless you were there. Without blowing up the rider’s name, the one guy on the 80s on the Parsec ride, was not happy about the bumpy stretch. Everyone else, even the 90mm wheels guy, was fine

shrug

Ive ridden vegas and houston on the stock parsec 80s, no big deal. Uncomfortable a bit sure, but not unusable…

If you really are that bothered, there are larger wheels coming.
